Responsibilities & Context:
Assembling and priming dialysis machines with appropriate dialysate and tubing lines.
Testing water systems and equipment alarms to ensure strict safety compliance.
Assessing patient vitals including blood pressure, weight, and temperature before starting treatment.
Cannulating vascular access sites by inserting needles into fistulas or grafts safely.
Monitoring machine parameters and patient vital signs continuously throughout the dialysis session.
Managing acute complications like hypotension, cramping, or machine malfunctions during treatment.
Concluding treatment sessions by disconnecting blood lines and dressing vascular access sites.
Disinfecting dialysis equipment and disposing of biohazardous biomedical waste according to protocol.
Logging clinical data accurately, including fluid removal rates, vital signs, and water quality metrics.
