About us
At Pentex, integrity is at the heart of everything we do; from the way we work through to the products we create. Combining creative design with responsible and ethical practices, we deliver fashion solutions that are built for today and ready for the future.
Since our beginnings in East London in the 1960s, Pentex has grown into a global design and manufacturing partner. Throughout that journey, one value has remained constant: doing the right thing.
We believe in doing what’s right, putting our customers first and holding ourselves to high standards in everything we do. Every partnership we build, every garment we produce and every order we deliver reflects our commitment to working with honesty, care and integrity which is the ethos that continues to define the Pentex way.
The Role
Would you like to join an innovative company where you’ll lead ethical and technical audits across our partner factories in Bangladesh? Working closely with factory management, you’ll make sure every site meets our customers’ codes of conduct and technical standards – from fair, safe and legal working conditions to product safety controls from raw materials through to final shipment. You’ll drive continuous improvement, embed best practice, and help safeguard the trusted, ethical partnerships that define the Pentex way.
Main Responsibilities
Conduct internal ethical (social compliance) audits against customers’ codes of conduct, the ETI Base Code, Bangladesh labour law and company policy, covering wages and benefits, working hours, child and forced labour, freedom of association, discrimination, harassment and grievance procedures.
Assess health, safety and building integrity, including fire, electrical and structural safety, emergency preparedness, and worker welfare facilities.
Carry out confidential worker interviews and review records such as payroll, time records, contracts and age verification to confirm compliance.
Conduct internal technical audits based on customers’ technical standards and requirements.
Prepare comprehensive ethical and technical audit reports with corrective action plans within the required timelines.
Carry out ethical and technical assessments of new factories before they are approved for production.
Prepare factories for customer and third-party ethical and technical audits (e.g. SMETA, amfori BSCI, WRAP and customer technical audits), and follow up all findings through to closure.
Escalate critical or zero-tolerance issues immediately to management and UK head office.
Implement customer-specific technical requirements and conduct day-to-day monitoring to ensure ongoing compliance.
Manage and monitor metal detector controls, sharp tool controls, mould prevention, needle control, and related processes in accordance with customer requirements.
Monitor chemical compliance against customer restricted substance requirements (RSL/MRSL), including safe chemical storage, handling and documentation.
Conduct training for factory management and staff on customers’ codes of conduct, health and safety, sharp tool control, metal control, and other ethical and technical policies.
Develop, implement, and periodically review SOPs, procedures, and policies based on customer and company requirements.
Maintain and control all ethical and technical compliance documentation, records, SOPs, and technical files, including proper Technical File and Document Control systems.
Work closely with factory management and relevant departments to ensure a clear understanding and effective implementation of customers’ ethical and technical requirements.
Identify areas for improvement and support factories in implementing effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Maintain an up-to-date compliance status for each factory and report regularly to management and UK head office.
Perform any other responsibilities and tasks assigned by management.
