Job Title:

Technical Service Advisor (Engineer)

Position Summary

The Technical Service Advisor (Engineer) serves as the bridge between clients and the workshop team. This individual is responsible for diagnosing vehicles, preparing quotations, explaining required services to clients, and ensuring smooth coordination between the service department, parts division, and accounts. The role demands both strong technical knowledge and excellent communication skills to deliver a premium service experience consistent with Autobahn Solutions standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Interaction & Job Intake

  • Greet customers and record all concerns and symptoms accurately on the Job Card.

  • Conduct a preliminary inspection of the vehicle and identify visible faults.

  • Explain service requirements, options, and pricing clearly to clients.

  • Prepare and submit quotations for approval before proceeding with repairs.

  • Maintain daily client communication updates regarding service progress.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction at delivery and obtain client feedback.

2. Technical Diagnosis & Coordination

  • Perform or oversee complete diagnostic scans and physical inspections.

  • Accurately identify mechanical, electrical, and body-related issues.

  • Coordinate with the relevant Department Heads (Mechanical, Electrical, Body Shop) for job execution.

  • Approve the quality of spare parts before use in repair work.

  • Ensure old parts are stored properly and labeled in the store area.

  • Conduct post-service Quality Control (QC) checks before vehicle delivery.

3. Job Card & Documentation

  • Prepare and maintain complete documentation: Quotation → Job Card → Parts Request → Invoice → Delivery Note.

  • Record all additional findings during repair and update the quotation accordingly.

  • Ensure all documents are signed by the client and attached to final billing.

  • Coordinate with the Accounts Department to ensure all purchase receipts, payments, and due records are properly logged.

4. Coordination with Other Departments

  • Work closely with the Parts Team to ensure timely parts availability.

  • Communicate with the Accounts Team for quotation approvals, due updates, and payment clearances.

  • Report daily job status to the CEO and Department Heads by 10:00 AM.

  • Participate in morning and evening service meetings.

  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team on customer feedback and promotions.

5. Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Follow the company’s SOP and QC checklist strictly for all services.

  • Verify that all repairs are completed as per approved estimates.

  • Immediately report any unusual activities, part mismatches, or operational issues to the management.

  • Ensure workshop cleanliness, proper vehicle handling, and brand compliance.

  • Maintain professionalism in communication, dress code, and behavior at all times.

  • 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM (6 days/week)

Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a multi-brand or luxury car workshop.

  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills (OBD, Scanner-based diagnostics).

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Proficient in preparing quotations and coordinating workflow.

  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and client service orientation.
