Experience:

• Bachelor of Social Science (Pass)

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Environmental Science, Development Studies, or relevant field.

• 2 to 3 years

• 2-3 years of experience in community development, climate adaptation, or social mobilization projects.

• Strong facilitation and interpersonal communication skills.

• Familiarity with community-led adaptation approaches and local governance.

• Ability to work effectively with diverse communities in rural and vulnerable areas.

• Proficiency in Bangla and English (written and spoken).

• Willingness to travel frequently to field sites.

• Experience with local NGOs or development projects in Bangladesh.

• Knowledge of gender and social inclusion best practices.

• Skills in participatory monitoring and evaluation techniques.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Technical Officer to support community-led climate adaptation and social development initiatives in Bangladesh. The successful candidate will facilitate inclusive community engagement, promote local leadership in adaptation planning, and ensure social equity and inclusion in project implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate community-based adaptation planning and implementation with active participation of local groups, including women, youth, and marginalized populations.

• Support the formation and strengthening of local governance structures and community organizations to lead climate resilience efforts.

• Conduct participatory assessments to identify social vulnerabilities and climate risks.

• Mainstream social inclusion, gender equity, and disability considerations throughout project activities.

• Deliver training and capacity-building sessions for local stakeholders and community leaders.

• Assist in developing communication tools and knowledge products tailored to local contexts.

• Contribute to monitoring and evaluation activities using participatory and community-friendly methods.

• Prepare timely technical reports and documentation reflecting project progress and social impact.

• Experience working in culturally diverse, rural, or climate-vulnerable contexts.

• Ability to travel regularly to field locations.

• Contribute to the development and application of community-friendly monitoring and feedback tools (e.g., participatory M&E, storytelling, community reflections).

• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of community processes, outcomes, and stories of change.

• Prepare reports and updates that reflect both technical outputs and social impact indicators.
