Responsibilities & Context:

Job Summary of STEAMBRIDGE Teacher

  • A STEAMBRIDGE Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned with the Cambridge Assessment International Education Primary curriculum. The teacher supports students’ academic, social, and emotional development while maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

    1. Curriculum Planning and Lesson Delivery

    • Plan weekly, monthly, and term-wise lessons aligned with the Cambridge Assessment International Education Primary curriculum framework.

    • Prepare lesson plans with clear learning objectives, success criteria, and differentiated activities.

    • Deliver interactive and student-centered lessons using inquiry-based and activity-based teaching approaches.

    • Use a variety of teaching resources such as smart tv, multimedia, worksheets, manipulatives, storytelling, experiments, and educational technology.

    • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.

    • Ensure curriculum coverage within the academic calendar.

    2. Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring

    • Conduct formative and summative assessments regularly.

    • Design quizzes, assignments, projects, oral activities, and classroom exercises to evaluate learning outcomes.

    • Maintain assessment records, grading sheets, and student portfolios.

    • Analyze student performance data to identify strengths and areas needing improvement.

    • Provide individualized feedback and academic support plans where necessary.

    • Prepare students for Cambridge Progression Tests and Checkpoint assessments if applicable.

    3. Classroom Management

    • Establish classroom rules and routines that promote discipline and positive behavior.

    • Create a safe, inclusive, respectful, and stimulating learning environment.

    • Manage student behavior using positive reinforcement and restorative practices.

    • Organize seating arrangements and learning spaces to maximize engagement and collaboration.

    • Ensure classroom cleanliness, safety, and proper use of learning materials.

    4. Child Development and Student Support

    • Support students’ social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.

    • Identify students with learning difficulties or behavioral concerns and coordinate with school counselors or academic coordinators.

    • Encourage confidence, creativity, leadership, and independent learning among students.

    • Promote values such as respect, responsibility, empathy, and teamwork.

    • Monitor student attendance, punctuality, and well-being.

    5. Parent Communication and Engagement

    • Maintain regular communication with parents regarding academic progress and classroom behavior.

    • Conduct parent-teacher conferences and progress review meetings.

    • Prepare report cards, progress comments, and developmental observations.

    • Respond professionally to parent concerns and inquiries.

    • Encourage parental involvement in student learning and school activities.

    6. Use of Educational Technology

    • Integrate digital learning tools, smart boards, educational apps, and online platforms into lessons.

    • Prepare digital teaching materials and presentations.

    • Use learning management systems for assignments, attendance, and communication where applicable.

    • Guide students in responsible and safe technology use.

    7. Co-Curricular and Extracurricular Activities

    • Participate in school assemblies, events, exhibitions, competitions, and celebrations.

    • Organize classroom projects, field trips, clubs, and enrichment activities.

    • Support students during sports days, cultural programs, and academic fairs.

    • Contribute to whole-school initiatives and community engagement activities.

    8. Collaboration and Professional Responsibilities

    • Work collaboratively with fellow teachers, coordinators, and school leadership.

    • Attend staff meetings, curriculum planning sessions, and training workshops.

    • Share best teaching practices and teaching resources with colleagues.

    • Participate in continuous professional development programs.

    • Stay updated on changes in Cambridge curriculum standards and teaching methodologies.

    9. Administrative Duties

    • Maintain lesson plans, attendance records, assessment documentation, and classroom inventories.

    • Submit reports and academic documentation within deadlines.

    • Assist in examination invigilation and school administrative tasks when required.

    • Follow school policies, safeguarding procedures, and child protection guidelines.

    • Maintain school database including academic record, attendance, home work upload.

    10. Safeguarding and Student Welfare

    • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.

    • Follow school safeguarding and child protection policies strictly.

    • Report any concerns related to student welfare, bullying, or abuse according to school procedures.

    • Promote a healthy and emotionally supportive classroom atmosphere.
