Responsibilities & Context:
ILMA Grammar School is seeking an experienced, passionate and dynamic Academic Coordinator to join our leadership team. Working closely with the Principal, the Academic Coordinator will lead the school's teaching and learning initiatives, support teachers in delivering high-quality education, and help drive continuous academic improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Principal in maintaining high standards of teaching and learning across the school through regular lesson observations, instructional coaching and constructive feedback.
* Review lesson plans, schemes of work and curriculum delivery to ensure lessons are engaging, student-centred and aligned with the school's academic expectations.
* Design and deliver professional development workshops, mentor teachers and promote best practices in pedagogy, classroom management and assessment.
* Monitor student achievement and assessment practices, oversee examination planning and moderation, and use academic data to support continuous improvement.
* Coordinate academic calendars, syllabi, book lists and other curriculum-related planning in collaboration with the Principal.
* Foster a culture of professionalism, collaboration, innovation and reflective practice among teaching staff.
* Promote the effective use of educational technology and AI to enhance teaching, learning and teacher productivity.
* Contribute to teacher performance reviews, support newly appointed teachers and help develop future academic leaders within the school.
* Assist with school policies, academic committees and other initiatives that strengthen the quality and effectiveness of the school's educational programme.
* Undertake any additional academic leadership responsibilities reasonably assigned by the Principal.
Essential Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant field preferred (Master's degree preferred).
* Minimum ten years of teaching experience; leadership or curriculum coordination experience will be an advantage.
* Strong knowledge of curriculum, pedagogy and assessment.
* Excellent communication, mentoring and organisational skills.
* Confidence in leading teacher training and supporting professional growth.
* A genuine passion for educational excellence and holistic student development.
