Job Responsibilities:

Patient Care & Clinical Duties

  • Provide holistic nursing care to patients as per physician’s orders and hospital protocols.
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respiration, oxygen saturation).
  • Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and other treatments accurately.
  • Assist doctors during ward rounds, diagnostic procedures, and surgeries.
  • Maintain proper nursing notes, patient charts, and progress records.
  • Ensure timely sample collection and delivery to the laboratory.
  • Emergency & Critical Care Support
    • Respond quickly to medical emergencies (CPR, trauma, code blue situations).
    • Handle critical care patients in ICU, CCU, NICU, or HDU units under supervision.
    • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to surgical patients.
  • Patient Education & Counseling
    • Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, discharge instructions, and preventive health practices.
    • Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, and follow-up care.
  • Infection Control & Safety
    • Maintain strict infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols.
    • Ensure safe disposal of biomedical waste.
    • Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and aseptic techniques in wards and procedure areas.
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Maintain accurate records in the hospital information system (HIS) or manual registers.
    • Report any adverse events, incidents, or patient condition changes to doctors and supervisors.
    • Ensure proper handover during shift changes.
  • Coordination & Teamwork
    • Coordinate with doctors, lab technicians, pharmacists, and other departments for smooth patient care.
    • Work in a multidisciplinary team to deliver quality healthcare services.
    • Guide and train junior nurses, interns, and support staff.
  • Administrative & Compliance Duties
    • Follow hospital policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and nursing protocols.
    • Ensure patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
    • Participate in Continuous Nursing Education (CNE) and training programs.
    • Assist in audits, quality improvement programs, and NABH/JCI accreditation compliance (if applicable).
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care maintaining corporate hospital service standards.
    • Manage ward/department supplies, equipment, and ensure availability of medicines.
  • Participate in health camps, awareness programs, and hospital promotional activities if required.
