Educational Requirements:
∎ A bachelor's or master's degree in apparel manufacturing, fashion design, textile engineering, or a related field is required
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 7 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Leading and managing the product development process from ideation to final product delivery, ensuring that timelines, and quality standards are met.
∎ Collaborate with design teams to develop innovative and marketable product concepts that meet customer needs and align with brand strategy.
∎ Conducting market research to identify emerging trends and consumer preferences, and utilizing this information to develop innovative and competitive products.
∎ Manage the product development process from ideation to production, ensuring product specifications, timelines, and quality standards are met.
∎ Work closely with cross-functional teams including design, sourcing, merchandising, and marketing to ensure alignment on product vision and execution.
∎ Overseeing product testing, sample review, and quality assurance to ensure products meet internal standards and regulatory requirements.
∎ Manage and mentor a team of product developers, providing guidance and support to drive career growth and development.
∎ Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking to stay up to date on industry trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
∎ Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors ensuring quality standards and technical requirements are met.
∎ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure products are designed and developed with sustainability in mind.
∎ Participate in product presentations to key stakeholders
∎ Monitor market trends, latest innovations, and market dynamics
∎ Be able to meet deadlines and work timelines within a budget framework
Additional Requirements:
∎ Strong understanding of current fashion trends and ability to forecast future trends.
∎ Extensive knowledge of apparel product design and development
∎ Experience in managing a team of designers and product developers
∎ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as production, marketing, and sales
∎ Ingenious capacity to generate new ideas and concepts
∎ Good sense of product quality, creativity, innovation, assembling, and washing
∎ Substantial knowledge of garment constructions and patterns
∎ Strong analytical skills including the ability to distill, synthesize and draw conclusions on large amounts of data
∎ Must be accustomed to fashion-graphic designing, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator
∎ Demonstrated high-level product design skills, technical design, sketching, creative application
∎ Minimum 7+ years in the relevant area
∎ Technical Product Development
∎ Project Management
∎ Team Development
∎ Be able to work on deadlines and manage multiple projects at once
∎ Ability to empower others by sharing information and context around strategic direction and decision-making process
∎ In-depth knowledge of varieties of fabric and accessories
∎ Substantial knowledge of various types of print, embroidery, and other garment technology
∎ Should have proficiency in English
∎ Ability to work under pressure and should conduct the team as a supportive leader
∎ Skilled in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
