Site Engineer Job Responsibilities

Project Planning & Coordination

• Assist in planning and scheduling construction activities to ensure project timelines are met.

• Coordinate with architects, designers, contractors, and subcontractors.

• Review project drawings and specifications to understand technical requirements.

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.

Site Supervision

• Oversee day-to-day operations on the construction site.

• Ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings, designs, and safety standards.

• Monitor site labor force and subcontractor work progress.

• Verify the quality and quantity of materials used at the site.

Quality Control

• Inspect and ensure that construction materials and workmanship comply with design and quality standards.

• Conduct regular site inspections and testing.

• Report any technical issues or design discrepancies to the project manager or architect.

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations at the site.

• Ensure workers follow safety guidelines and wear protective equipment.

• Maintain proper documentation of safety protocols and incidents.

Material & Resource Management

• Manage and track materials delivery, usage, and storage.

• Ensure proper utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials.

• Raise purchase requests or requisitions for required materials.

Technical Support

• Provide technical guidance to workers and subcontractors.

• Assist in resolving design or construction-related challenges.

• Support project managers in preparing as-built drawings and technical documentation.

Communication & Reporting

• Liaise between project management, consultants, and site teams.

• Maintain site records including daily progress logs, work permits, and inspection checklists.

• Report progress, challenges, and delays promptly to the project management team.

Handover & Documentation

• Assist in preparing project completion documents and as-built reports.

• Participate in final inspections and ensure all punch list items are completed.

• Support the handover process to clients or facility management teams.
