Educational Requirements:
∎ Masters, preferably PhD in Economics or Business or related subject;

Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 12 year(s)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Conduct research and give policy advice on trade and trade related issues, trade negotiations in the context of WTO, trade agreements etc.;
∎ Contribute to the project management of the Institute;
∎ Assist in organizing regular training courses and programs on trade and business related subjects for public and private sector officials;
∎ Establishing, maintaining and strengthening liaison with different stakeholders- trade bodies and sectoral associations, government departments, trade research institutes, donor agencies, WTO/UNCTAD/ITC/ITTC/WIPO and similar bodies;
∎ Examine and interpret trade policies and negotiating positions with regard to WTO agreements, FTAs, RTAs, BTAs and other trading agreements;
∎ Supervise, monitor, management and guide research of junior members of the BFTI;
∎ Such other task or tasks as may be assigned to him from time to time by the authorities.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 62 years
∎ Substantial experience in trade-related research/studies/project management/policy advocacy/ publication etc.;
∎ Managerial experience in running institutions which conduct large research programs and have a distinguished group of professionals;
∎ An aptitude for team work and ability to guide junior researchers;
∎ Computer literacy in standard business software (i.e. Microsoft Office Packages) and (internet) services;
∎ Experience:
∎ Minimum 12 years of experience preferably in academic and/or research institutions, of which 3 years should be as Research Fellow or a comparable position (educational qualification requirement may be relaxed for a candidate having experience in trade related organisation for at least 7 years);
∎ Some conditions may be relaxed in case of truly exceptional and competent candidates.

Salary:
∎ Monthly upto Tk.1,20,000/- (Consolidated)
