∎ Working hours: Full-time, 7.5 hours per day (weekly 37.5 hours)
∎ Responsible to: Head of Programmes, Article 19 Bangladesh and South Asia
∎ Key Relationships: Finance Team; Bangladesh and South Asia Staff; Law and Policy Team; Communications and Campaigns Team; Senior Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer; Senior Compliance and Project Management Team
∎ Work Location: ARTICLE 19 Bangladesh and South Asia, Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) Building, Plot # 3 & 4, Avenue # 3, Hazi Road, Rupnagar, Mirpur – 2, Dhaka – 1216, Bangladesh.
∎ Travel: This position may require occasional national and international travel

Our impact on freedom of expression and right to information ranges from legal analysis, interventions and advocacy, to working with government institutions, and international community to a broad range of actors of the civil society, from media, journalists, human right defenders and activists, to community based organisations.
∎ Under the supervision of the Head of Programmes, the Senior Programme Officer will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of key programs within the organization. This role will involve collaborating with stakeholders to define program objectives and ensure alignment with the organization's strategic goals. S/he will lead the development of program proposals, manages budgets, and monitors progress through data collection and analysis. Additionally, you will facilitate capacity-building efforts for staff and partners, ensuring that best practices are implemented. By fostering strong relationships with donors and community partners, the Senior Programme Officer will enhance program impact, drive innovation, and ensure sustainability in achieving the organization’s mission. You will also contribute to strategic planning, wider policy discussions and campaigns, as well as cross-learning and collaboration with other regional/thematic programmes of ARTICLE 19.
