1. Clinical Duties & Patient Care:
Triage, assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of medical, surgical, pediatric, and traumatic emergencies presenting to the ED.
Provide immediate resuscitation and stabilization for critically ill patients (e.g., cardiac arrest, major trauma, sepsis).
Perform a variety of emergency procedures independently, including but not limited to:
Interpretation of ECGs and X-rays.
Advanced Airway Management (ET tube insertion)
CPR (Basic Life Support)
Management of common cut injuries, RTA etc.
Management of common fractures, shoulder dislocation etc.
Use of Crash cart medicines
Foley’s catheterization
Make decisive decisions regarding patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Ensure accurate, timely, and legible documentation in patient electronic medical records.
2. Supervisory & Leadership Duties:
Provide direct clinical supervision, support, and guidance to Junior Medical Officers, Medical Officers, and house staff.
Act as the senior in-charge clinician for the ED during assigned shifts, coordinating team activities and resource allocation.
Conduct informal and formal teaching sessions for junior staff and medical students.
Assist in the orientation and onboarding of new departmental staff.
3. On-Call & Shift Work
This position requires a full commitment to a shift-based rota, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Shift patterns are designed to ensure 24/7 senior coverage of the department.
