∎ ARTICLE 19 Bangladesh and South Asia office is looking for a Senior Gender Officer. Established in 1987, ARTICLE 19 is a global organisation, with a strong presence in the Global South including Bangladesh and South Asia. Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Senior Gender Officer will be leading Gender and Sexuality theme-based activities for ARTICLE 19 Bangladesh and South Asia regional office. He/she will be responsible for the delivery and contribution to different projects. The Senior Gender Officer will be involved with reviewing the extent to gender mainstreaming interventions, proposing specific new policy and operational actions for improvement following the work plan globally and in other regions in close collaboration with the South Asia Regional Director. ∎ Additional Job Responsibility:
∎ Contributes to the strategic vision of the work in South Asia ensuring policies on gender and sexuality are considered.
∎ Contributes to the identification of new areas of work and proposals, including a gender and sexuality perspective, in Bangladesh and South Asia.
∎ Ensure quality, cohesive and coordinated identification and implementation of policies on gender and sexuality in the programmatic areas of work.
∎ Ensure high quality delivery of research proposals with a gender and sexuality perspective, that includes regional research on a feminist approach to the safety of journalists.
∎ Oversee the development of online resource hub to host materials on safety of journalists with a focus on promoting gender equality and women empowerment.
∎ Produce and disseminate reports to raise public awareness.
∎ Support the protection team in the design and development of holistic protection training for journalists and human rights defenders, with a gender and intersectional approach.
∎ Provide technical support to mainstream gender into project activities and deliverables.
∎ Facilitate spaces for dialogue among women journalists and communicators to promote collective well-being, self-care and experience sharing, with specific consideration to the risks posed by COVID-19 pandemic.
∎ Provide expert advice and inputs whenever necessary throughout the progress of project activities.
∎ Provide recommendations for ensuring feminist and intersectional approaches in A19's work.
∎ Monitor specific projects budget tracking, ensuring expenditures are consistent with organizational and grant budgets.
∎ Ensure accurate and timely programme narrative reporting in line with project financial report.
∎ Provide relevant documentation and summary reports of project related activities.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5 years of NGO sector experience in designing, developing and delivering Gender and Sexuality related projects in the context of human rights and with knowledge of international human rights standards. Experience of working in international NGO will be an asset. Experience in mainstreaming gender and intersectional approaches in development and human rights projects, capacity building activities, monitoring and documentation of violations of human rights. Specific knowledge of mainstreaming gender and intersectional approaches related to the safety of journalists and human rights defenders will be an asset. Working experience beyond Bangladesh, especially in any other South Asia country will be given priority.

Salary:
∎ Salary and benefits shall be fixed within the existing ARTICLE 19`s pay scale and in line with Service Rules.
