1. Embryology Laboratory Management

• Lead and oversee daily operations of the embryology laboratory, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.

• Ensure proper functioning, calibration, and maintenance of all embryology lab equipment.

• Maintain optimal laboratory conditions, including temperature, humidity, air quality, and sterility.

2. IVF & Assisted Reproductive Techniques (ART)

• Perform and supervise ART procedures including IVF, ICSI, embryo culture, embryo grading, and embryo transfer preparation.

• Handle gametes and embryos in compliance with established protocols and international standards.

• Decide and implement appropriate laboratory techniques to maximize fertilization and pregnancy outcomes.

3. Cryopreservation & Storage

• Manage cryopreservation of embryos, oocytes, and sperm (vitrification and thawing procedures).

• Maintain accurate cryostorage records and ensure proper labeling and traceability.

• Ensure safety, monitoring, and documentation of liquid nitrogen storage systems.

4. Quality Control & Assurance

• Develop, implement, and monitor quality control and quality assurance protocols within the lab.

• Maintain SOPs, documentation, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.

• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as fertilization rate, cleavage rate, and pregnancy outcomes.

5. Team Leadership & Training

• Supervise, mentor, and train junior embryologists and laboratory staff.

• Conduct regular training sessions and competency assessments.

• Ensure adherence to ethical practices and laboratory discipline.

6. Coordination with Clinical Team

• Work closely with fertility consultants, medical officers, nurses, and counselors.

• Participate in treatment planning, case discussions, and embryo selection meetings.

• Provide clear laboratory updates and reports to the clinical team.

7. Documentation & Data Management

• Maintain accurate patient, laboratory, and procedural records in HMS/EMR systems.

• Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive patient and laboratory data.

• Prepare and submit laboratory reports to management and regulatory authorities.

8. Infection Control & Laboratory Safety

• Enforce strict infection control, biosafety, and waste management protocols.

• Ensure compliance with occupational health and laboratory safety standards.

9. Research & Continuous Improvement

• Stay updated with advances in embryology and reproductive technologies.

• Participate in research activities, audits, and outcome analysis.

• Recommend improvements in laboratory processes and technology adoption.

10. Ethical Practice & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to medical ethics, patient consent protocols, and fertility treatment regulations.

• Maintain professional integrity and confidentiality at all times.
