• Master of Science (MSc) in Social Science

• Masters Degree in Environmental Science, Social Science or relevant field

• 3 to 7 years

• Age 28 to 45 years

• At least 3 years of work experience as a project officer or similar role
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, particularly in English
• Strong knowledge of finance, particularly energy finance
• Must be able to multitask and work well under pressure
• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities

About CLEAN:

The Coastal Livelihood and Environmental Action Network (CLEAN) is a voluntary organization that works on Climate Change, Energy, Environment, and Food Security. CLEAN works with around 50,000 people all over Bangladesh through partners, especially at the climate hotspots and energy hubs. CLEAN also works with partners in the South Asia sub-region as the South Asia Just Transition Alliance (SAJTA) focal point. CLEAN grounds its Thematic Pillars and strategies at the community level to ensure the efforts are translated to the local communities and tailored to local realities. CLEAN involves students, academicians, researchers, social leaders, media, local government, and policymakers to create an enabling environment for people and the ecology.

Working Environment:

Job Station: Khulna city (around 70% of the time), but frequent visits are required to the communities (around 30% of the time)

Report to: Campaign Coordinator

Coordinate with: Communication Coordinator, Research Coordinator

Supervise: Campaign Officer

Working Station: Khulna, Bangladesh

Jurisdiction: Asia-pacific region, especially South Asia

Work Days: Saturday - Thursday, except for the public holidays

Working Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a one-hour lunch break

Duration: Two years initially with an option of extension

Major Role:

The Regional Coordinator is self-motivated and talented and will lead the Regional Energy campaign and research. S/he will be in charge of narrative development, including conducting studies and developing study reports, policy briefs, fact sheets, brochures and other materials on South Asia in cooperation with the research and communication teams. S/he will lead the campaigns on energy in South Asia in coordination with partners of the Coastal Livelihood and Environmental Action Network (CLEAN) and members of the South Asia Just Transition Alliance (SAJTA). The ideal candidate will have excellent writing, presentation and organizational skills in Bangla and English.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct Studies on the challenges, problems and potential of the Energy Sector in South Asia.

• Organize campaign activities at national and regional levels independently and in partnership with other organizations.

• Advocate with policymakers, developers, partner organizations, investors, financiers, institutions and other regional stakeholders.

• Build the capacity of co-workers and partners regarding bilateral and multilateral financial institutions, investors and developers in the energy sector.

• Prepare a detailed campaign plan for energy in South Asia, including targeted agencies.

• Participate and organize meetings with the regional partners and other stakeholders.

• Supervise program activities and control expenditures according to the allocated budget.

• Furnish periodical reports on regional activities.
