We are looking for a competent Psycho-Social Counsellor to provide services for the mental well-being of the students at Green University of Bangladesh. Job Responsibilities:

Individual Counselling: Providing one-on-one counselling sessions to students who are dealing with personal, emotional, or psychological issues. This could include anxiety, depression, stress, relationship problems, identity issues, etc.

Group Counselling: Facilitating group counseling sessions or support groups on various topics such as stress management, mindfulness, coping skills, etc. These sessions provide students with a supportive environment to share their experiences and learn from others.

Crisis Intervention: Being available for crisis intervention and providing immediate support to students who are in acute distress or facing emergencies. This could involve assessing risk, providing emotional support, and referring students to appropriate resources if needed.

Psycho-Educational Workshops: Organizing and conducting workshops, seminars, or presentations on topics related to mental health, well-being, and personal development. These workshops may cover areas such as resilience-building, communication skills, conflict resolution, etc.

Consultation and Referral: Collaborating with faculty, staff, and other campus resources to address student concerns and facilitate referrals to external mental health professionals or services when necessary. This involves maintaining a network of community resources and staying informed about local mental health resources.

Outreach and Awareness Campaigns: Developing and implementing outreach programs and awareness campaigns to promote mental health awareness and reduce stigma surrounding seeking help for psychological issues. This could involve organizing events, distributing educational materials, and utilising social media platforms.

Assessment and Screening: Conducting mental health assessments and screenings to identify students who may benefit from counselling services or other forms of support. This may include administering standardised assessments or conducting informal evaluations.

Collaboration with Campus Partners: Collaborating with other campus departments, such as student affairs, academic advising, health services, etc., to provide integrated support services for students. This may involve participating in interdisciplinary teams and committees focused on student well-being.

Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintaining accurate and confidential records of counselling sessions, assessments, referrals, and other interactions with students. Adhering to ethical and legal guidelines regarding confidentiality and privacy.

Professional Development: Engaging in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with best practices in counselling, therapy techniques, multicultural competence, and relevant legal and ethical issues.

Self-Care and Supervision: Practising self-care strategies and seeking supervision or consultation as needed to manage the emotional demands of the job and ensure professional competence and ethical practice.
