Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS)
∎ and post-graduation degree in Psychiatry or equivalent degree.

∎ At least 1 year(s)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ MHPSS Consultant position is responsible for overseeing all stabilization center activities, treatment, monitoring and supervision, and capacity building of the staff. The position requires coordination and communication with different stakeholders in camps/of camps for referral and treatment.
∎ Part 1: Technical Responsibilities
∎ Provide specialized consultation and treatment to the patients suffering from severe and common psychiatric, behavioral, and emotional problems.
∎ Develop a treatment plan, measure progress against the plan, and make adjustments as per requirement.
∎ Assess and screen patients by conducting psychiatric evaluations, including clinical interviews, medical histories, physical exams, observations, psychological testing, and diagnosis; and prescribe and administer medications according to diagnosis.
∎ Formulate and Plan for the pharmacological and psycho-social intervention for the patients of the stabilization center.
∎ Ensure that proper information on treatment and follow-up are collected in order to monitor the provision of care.
∎ Maintain close collaboration with the stabilization center's staff (medical officers, psychologists, nurses, paramedics, and social workers) to assess and adjust treatment plans.
∎ Complete all necessary clinical documentation, and data recording in an accurate and timely manner and submit in the HIS/irHIS system for the purpose of monitoring the provision of care. Establish collaboration/communication with PHC staff in order to achieve a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care.
∎ Part 2: Psychotropic medication Management
∎ Ensure compliance with good pharmaceutical practice guidelines, and psychotropic medications availability in the project.
∎ Part 3: Capacity-building activities
∎ To develop necessary clinical protocols, guidelines, and standards training modules for managing the SC's intervention.
∎ provide training, support, and supervision to the stabilization center's staff on the diagnosis and treatment of severe and common mental health disorders and problems.
∎ Part 4: Organizational responsibilities
∎ Ensure patient confidentiality is respected and treat all the patients with respect and dignity
∎ To maintain the highest regard for beneficiary dignity and follow all Medical Ethics on Rights for the beneficiary.
∎ To maintain all health coordination in the camp to address the unmet needs in mental health, optimizing the allocation of available resources and services for the refugee and host community.
∎ Perform other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor or medical coordinator.
∎ Any other duty is relevant to the post assigned by GK.
∎ Special Note
∎ Carry out any additional assignment in accordance with her/his position entrusted by the Health Coordinator of GK from time to time and mutually agreed upon.
∎ Management may, at any point in time, modify this job description as it is deemed necessary in Gonoshastha Kendra's interests in consultation with the incumbent.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Essential working experience as a psychiatrist & /or medical officer in a psychiatric department in any recognized hospital.
∎ Experience in training and supervision of staff on inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care and support.
∎ Essential understanding regarding MHPSS concepts, humanitarian policies, Refugee protection Principles, and Framework; and essential care of mental health stabilization centers.
∎ Understanding reading Diagnostic Statistical Manual 5 / International Classification of Diseases -ICD 11.
∎ Understanding essential psychotropic medicine, therapeutic communication skills

Salary: Tk. 50000 (Monthly)
