Responsibilities & Context:

Name of the Project: Community-led Climate Smart Innovations to Address Climate Change Impacts (Uddom)

  1. Position: Project Officer

  2. Job Location: Morrelganj Upazila, Bagerhat; with the regular field visit to the project areas

Nature of job: Contractual, 24 months/ up to project duration - May 2026

Reporting to: Project Focal Person

Major Job Responsibilities: Project Officers will implement the day-to-day activities at the union and ward level, including liaising with Union Disaster Management Committees (UDMCs) and Ward Disaster Management Committees (WMDCs) as part of the Disaster Risk and Reduction Policy and Practice sector; WASH interventions; Agriculture interventions; Shelter interventions; and Early Warning interventions. S/he will responsible to field implementation, Operational planning, and budget management, coordination of ward facilitators and implementation of project activities as per programme requirement.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Setting up operational plan for the filed level programme activities

  2. Community mobilization, formulation/reactivation/facilitation of participants

  3. Programme participants selection according to the criteria

  4. Provide services to the targeted communities within the limited timeframe;

  5. Perform awareness raising and capacity building activities

  6. Distribution of agriculture inputs and materials for climate adaptive agricultural activities

  7. Managing relationships with farmers, partners, and other stakeholders to ensure delivery of the programme outputs at field level

  8. Develop strategic partnership and networks with the relevant stakeholders at field level.

  9. Provide support in overall implementation, monitoring and reporting of field level programme activities

  10. Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  11. Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  12. Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

MAJOR CHALLENGES (encountered while performing the major responsibilities):

  1. Need to implement the initiatives in the hard to reach areas

  3. Maintaining compliance and ensuring quality of the project activities

    Number of activities performed to implement the project activities

    DECISION MAKING: Decision taken independently:

    1. Community mobilization

    2. Formation of community groups

    3. Coordination of ward facilitators

    Decision referred to the Supervisor:

    • Report preparation and submission

    • Organizing community mobilisation events

    • Operational planning

    • Distribution of materials or inputs

ANY OTHER ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Capacity building of the team members

  2. Maintain close communication with BRAC Climate Change Programme (CCP)

  3. Maintain relationship with other BRAC programmes in the project sites

  4. Conduct essential survey and knowledge product development



Job Other Benifits:

    Salary Range:

    Monthly salary BDT 28500 (gross) with two festival bonus and annual salary increment as per policy.

    Other Benefits:

    Provided fund and Gratuity and other admissible benefits will be given as per organizational rules and regulations.
