• Bachelor or Master’s degree in IWFM/ Water Resource Engineering/ Water Resource Management/ Climate and Water Governance/ Development Studies/ Social Science and relevant disciplines.

• Additional Requirements

• Proven experience in program planning, implementation, budgeting, financial management, staff management, supervision, and report writing.

• Strong management skills including the ability to provide strategic guidance, technical oversight, mentor staff, build strong teams, develop work plans, and manage budgets and project expenditures.

• High competency in MS Office suite, online meeting platforms etc.

• Proficient in English and Bangla.

• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team to achieve complex results under strict deadlines

• Willing to travel to different project locations if required.

• Demonstrated commitment to ethics, safeguarding, transparency, and accountability

• Commitment to an understanding of Uttaran’s core values and principles.

Job Summary

The Project Manager will be expected to guide the project team in order to achieve targeted outcomes and outputs of the project and will coordinate all sorts of logistic supports for the team members. S/he will be responsible for planning, budgeting, implementation and monitoring of the project activities including management of financial activities. S/he will provide regular accompaniment supports to the project team members in the implementation of different interventions under the defined pathways. S/he will represent the project as well as organization to different levels of stakeholders/organisations in the assigned working areas. S/he will maintain network and liaison with the line agencies, local government institutions, private sectors and others relevant stakeholders in order to maintain coordination, and synergies. The Project Manager needs to maintain strong coordination with the donor and will prepare and submit the different reports and necessary documents to the concerned within the agreed time frame. The position will report to the Head of Program of Uttaran.

Duties and Accountabilities:

Key responsibilities of the Project Manager include (but are not limited to):

• Understand the project objectives, principles and approaches in achieving the project outcome and output.

• Support project planning, implementation and maintaining close collaboration with the local government and key stakeholders.

• Understand and capable to facilitate water resource management and locally led approach for landscape management.

• Ensure organization and facilitation support to community groups and key stakeholders for community based tidal river management and landscape management.

• Provide necessary guidance and backstopping support to the team members to ensure participation and contributions of community people in water resource management.

• Provide planning and implementation support to the field staff in organizing and facilitating capacity building training for the project participants and key stakeholder where necessary.

• Organize training, meeting, workshop and other project events.

• Maintain effective liaison with representatives of private sectors, extension officials, Union Parishad and community leaders to ensure their supports in project implementation.

• Ensure timely logistic support to the team members and adherence with the financial and HR policy of the organization.

• Take initiative to improve the capacity of project staff and facilitate the team members to internalize different conceptual and methodological documents as well as processes.

• Support in developing and sharing effective monthly, quarterly and annual plans of operation.

• Facilitate creation of gender sensitive working environment with the team and take initiative to strengthen team spirit.

• Support preparing and reviewing the budget according to the work plan, ensure stick adherence to the organizational financial policies and guideline in project expenditures.

• Engage and participate in other activities as will be deemed necessary for project implementation and will be assigned by your supervisors.

Employment Type: 6-month probation period and extendable based on the performance.
