Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Public Health, Gender Studies, Social Science, Development Studies, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in managing SRHR, adolescent health, gender, or community health projects, preferably with NGOs/INGOs.
Proven experience in project planning, budgeting, monitoring, and donor reporting.
Skills:
Strong understanding of SRHR, youth-friendly services, gender equality, GBV, and rights-based approaches.
Excellent leadership, analytical, communication, and team management skills.
Strong proficiency in English and Bangla, especially in report writing.
Good understanding of urban health systems, DGHS/DGFP structures, and national SRHR policies.
The Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for leading, managing, and ensuring the effective and timely implementation of the Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR) Project within Charfesson Upazila, Bhola Sadar & Dhaka South City Corporation. The project manager’s base will be Charfesson Upazila. The PM will oversee all aspects of project planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder engagement to achieve project goals related to improving sexual and reproductive health and rights among adolescents, youth, women, and marginalized communities. The position requires strong leadership, technical understanding of SRHR, partnership management, quality assurance, and capacity development of staff to ensure the project contributes meaningfully to enhanced SRHR knowledge, access to services, and rights-based practices in urban and rural poor settings.
Major Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership, direction, and management of the SRHR Project to achieve planned outcomes and deliverables.
Strengthen collaboration with government health departments, NGOs/INGOs, youth networks, community-based organizations, and private healthcare providers to maximize project impact and sustainability.
Guide and supervise the project team to maintain high performance, accountability, and compliance with organizational and donor standards.
Specific Job Responsibilities
1. Planning and Implementation
Develop monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual work plans and budgets aligned with SRHR project objectives and donor requirements.
Lead the quality and timely implementation of SRHR interventions—awareness sessions, behavior change communication, youth-friendly services, referrals, capacity building, and advocacy initiatives.
Oversee procurement of SRHR-related materials (IEC/BCC materials, training resources, supplies) in compliance with organizational and donor policies.
Ensure effective coordination with finance, logistics, and administration teams for smooth implementation.
2. Monitoring, Reporting, and Documentation
Regularly monitor project activities, outputs, and outcomes, identifying any deviations and addressing them promptly.
Prepare high-quality periodic progress reports (monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, annual) capturing achievements, challenges, lessons learned, and innovative practices.
Document success stories, case studies, research findings, and best practices relevant to SRHR in urban contexts.
Maintain updated monitoring data, service statistics, and program documentation to ensure knowledge management and audit readiness.
3. Stakeholder and Donor Coordination
Serve as the primary focal point for donors, government health departments (DGHS, DGFP), city corporations, Upazila and Zila administration, development partners, and local stakeholders.
Organize donor visits, joint monitoring missions, and review meetings, and ensure that project achievements are showcased effectively.
Build partnerships with health facilities, service providers, youth networks, schools, NGOs, and private sector actors to strengthen SRHR service access and community engagement.
4. Capacity Building and Team Management
Provide continuous coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to field staff, peer educators, volunteers, and partner organizations.
Identify capacity gaps and organize relevant training sessions on SRHR, gender, safeguarding, adolescent development, and community engagement.
Conduct team meetings and performance reviews to ensure accountability and professional growth.
Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and gender-sensitive working environment.
5. Quality Assurance and Compliance
Ensure all SRHR interventions adhere to organizational policies, donor guidelines, national SRHR standards, and safeguarding protocols.
Promote innovative, rights-based approaches that empower adolescents and women to access accurate information and services.
Ensure the technical quality of training, IEC/BCC materials, community sessions, and service delivery mechanisms.
6. Advocacy and Community Engagement
Lead advocacy efforts with local authorities, community leaders, and service providers to promote SRHR rights, gender equality, and stigma reduction.
Support behavior change communication campaigns targeting adolescents, youth, parents, and community influencers.
Coordinate community outreach events, health fairs, and awareness campaigns.
7. Emergency and Humanitarian Response
Support SRHR-related emergency interventions (menstrual hygiene, GBV mitigation, adolescent protection) during crises, disasters, or public health emergencies.
Coordinate with emergency response clusters, health authorities, and humanitarian partners.
8. Other Responsibilities
Undertake field visits, coordination meetings, workshops, and relevant fora as required.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Senior management.
