Job Context:
∎ Rupantar, a development organization has been working in Disaster Management & Climate Change adaptation, Democracy & Political empowerment, Popular Media & Folk Theatre, Children & Youth rights and Peace & Tolerance. Rupantar is now inviting applications from suitable experienced and interested candidate to work coastal areas for filling up the following job vacancies to work in a climate change focused project supported by CARE Bangladesh dealing with Climate Risk Mitigation in Bagerhat District.
∎ Project Name : Community Led Innovation for Climate Risk Mitigation in Bangladesh - CLIMB
∎ Job Location : Sarankhola Upazilla in Bagerhat District
∎ Project Duration: 1st August, 2022 to 31st August, 2025
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Will be responsible for the timely and quality implementation of all deliverables on behalf of the organization.
∎ S/he will lead the process of beneficiary/participant selection, validation and distribution of packages and services as per the project plan and target.
∎ S/he will supervise all field level activities to ensure that all staffs are working according to the project work plan. S/he will be responsible for local government coordination to ensure smooth implementation of planned activities in all the targeted Unions and Upazilas. S/he will also be responsible for supporting the preparation and full implementation of the Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Plan and Environmental Mitigation and Management Plan (EMMP) and Climate Risk Management Plan (CMP).
∎ S/he will be responsible for timely reporting (narrative, financial and MEL) and ensuring quality control and administrative/ financial compliance of the donor.
∎ S/he will maintain regular liaison with the CARE Project Focal to plan and implement all activities and timely and adequate donor reporting.
∎ S/he will maintain regular liaison with the local government and other stakeholders
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 7 years' working experience in any National/International NGO;
∎ At least 2 years' experience in similar position.
∎ Experienced in developing annual, quarterly and monthly plans, budget and reports;
∎ Able to provide technical guidance to, and mobilize logistic supports for, and supervise the project staff for effective implementation of project activities;
∎ Day to day coordination and monitoring of project activities
∎ Any other tasks assigned by management
∎ Core competences:
∎ Familiar with bio-physical and socio-economic condition of Bagerhat or similar district;
∎ Skills in project cycle management;
∎ Good understanding on issues of Disaster Risk Reduction and climate change; gender equity, protection and multicultural intervention.
∎ Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point);
∎ Good verbal and written communication skills in local language, English and Bengali;
∎ Pro-active and participatory decision-making and problem-solving;
∎ Ability to communicate with people from different cultures and backgrounds;
Salary:
∎ An amount of 50,000/- per month with 5% yearly increment
