∎ Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) started its journey in 1988 with a noble vision to stand in solidarity with the poor and marginalized. Near about three decades of relentless efforts to make this happen, ESDO has embraced new grounds and opened up new horizons to help the disadvantaged and vulnerable people to bring meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. During this long span, ESDO has adapted with the changing situation and provided the most time-bound services especially for the poor and disadvantaged. A community focused and people centered approach has been adapted by ESDO while consideration was given to the national policy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as its guiding principle. ESDO is one of the most dynamic organizations expanding its development interventions across 331 upazilas under 54 districts of Bangladesh covering over 10 million poor and vulnerable people. ESDO is inviting applications from interested qualified candidates for the position.
∎ ESDO in Partnership with Plan International Bangladesh is implementing the Gender Responsive School & Community Safety Initiative (GRSCSI) project in Nageswari Upazilla under Kurigram district.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Project Manager is mainly responsible to lead Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) activities at project implementation area.
∎ S/he is responsible for design management, monitoring, supervision, coordination, networking, reporting & liaison with different stakeholders.
∎ Proven experience on designing & managing DRR & climate change adaptation initiatives & facilitating action research based on global Comprehensive School Safety Framework (CSSF).
∎ S/he is responsible for Performance Management, Staff Development, Lead the team, contribute to achieving the overall impact of the Project.
∎ Specific Responsibilities:
∎ Develop implementation strategies as per the organizational policy, guide line, donor requirement and working strategies;
∎ Provide necessary guidance to the staffs for the qualitative and quantitative achievement;
∎ Liaison with the upazilla and district level govt., non-govt. organization, Civil society Local Administration and private sector and ensure their involvement in the implementation process of the project activities;
∎ Maintain an effective and good linkage with the donor organization;
∎ Ensure reporting timely and as per the requirement of the authority, partners and donors;
∎ Ensure security and optimum use of the assets;
∎ Staff management, supervision and develop capacities of the staff;
∎ Follow up and monitoring of project activities;
∎ Organize and facilitate National/District and Upazila level orientation, seminars, workshop, meeting and training;
∎ Budget preparation, review, monitoring and controlling;
∎ Ensure project material (IEC) as per policy and donor requirement;
∎ Ensure logistic and financial support in time;
∎ Ensure publication and documentation of the project activities;
∎ Staff appraisal and provide feedback for improvement;
∎ Project Manager will utilize 40% of his working time in the field for proper implementation and monitoring of the ongoing activities;
∎ Ensure gender friendly environment in the office and in the community.
∎ Budgeting:
∎ Timely budget preparation and sharing with the project staffs;
∎ Budget analyzing, monitoring and controlling;
∎ Coordination:
∎ Coordinate with the community people, local elites and leaders, Govt. officials and respective department;
∎ Coordinate with the Management of ESDO, Plan International Bangladesh, and other concern staffs of ESDO;
∎ Reporting:
∎ To ensure preparation of Monthly/Quarterly/Annual progress & project completion report both in qualitative and quantities and to submit to ESDO and to Donor as per requirement.
∎ Documentation:
∎ To ensure preservation of all necessary files with respective letters, official documents and Reports;
∎ To ensure documentation of all best practices, case studies, success stories and learning’s of the project;
∎ To ensure preservation of necessary photographs, videos of the project activities;
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 30 to 50 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ At least 05 years’ experience in a Project implementation, Administration, Education and DRM field.
∎ Sound knowledge on global Comprehensive School & Safety Framework and DRM management
∎ Must have knowledge and proven experience in initiatives of disaster Risk reduction, social protection, Training & Capacity Development.
∎ Excellent organizing in Team building & Management skills
∎ Computer skill on MS Word, MS Excel & Power Point etc.
∎ Have quick decision making and problem-solving capability and to meet deadline.
∎ Individually report writing to donors/government (English & Bangla) etc
∎ Should have valid driving license and willing to drive Motorcycle at Char areas.
∎ Require to travel extensively in the project areas (Specially Char areas)
Salary: Tk. 55000 - 60000 (Monthly)
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Festival bonus equivalent to 50% of monthly gross salary and other benefits as per project allocation.
