  • Age At most 50 years
  • 8 years of experience with progressively increasing responsibilities and duties in program focused on organizational development in the Bangladeshi context along with proven experience managing operational components on large, complex donor-funded projects. Also 5 years’ experience in relevant field.
  • Knowledge on BRAC policies and procedures (Cost Principles and Uniform Guidance) as related to project management is preferable.
  • Knowledge on Climate Change and Climate Resilient Intervention, Adaptation, Mitigation and Resilience and Project Management is mandatory.
  • Leadership and communication skills to manage across teams in challenging contexts, strong interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with teams, local counterparts, donors, and other stakeholders to achieve results.
  • Fluency in Bangla and working written and oral proficiency in English are required.
  • Competent and dedicated staff that can be reached for feedback.
  • Excellent communication, networking and analytic writing skills.
  • Computer Literacy with capacity of communication through digital means.
  • Team building and leading capacity and ability to work under pressure and meet the deadline.
  • The applicant should have a brief knowledge and practice on child safeguarding, Gender responsiveness, environmental safeguarding and conflict transformative management.


Responsibilities & Context:

DASCOH is seeking applications from qualified individual for its “Strengthening Climate-Vulnerable Urban Communities for Resilience and Gender-Inclusive Sustainable Development” project in the role of Project Manager who will support the organization by coordinating the field implementation of the project in coordination with the head office management, donors, partners and other stakeholders. S/he will be responsible for ensuring the operational effectiveness and compliant implementation of activities. S/he will provide a broad range of project management, operations, and technical support to the project.

Objective of the mandate:

The objectives of the project execution mandate are:

Lead Project Team with efficiency during project execution in collaboration with headquarters and donors and routine management of project activities, finance and compliances.

Receive technical and strategic guidance from CBF and DASCOH senior management team on risk assessment and mitigation.

Maintain accurate records, reports, and promote compliance understanding among the team.

Analyze local data, identify challenges, and implement suitable interventions and participate in assessing climate risks and local planning.

Maintain close communication and coordination, lead and collaborate with local authorities, stakeholders and support their activity planning.

Deliver regular reports, documentation, and communication as needed.

Ensure team member safety, act as a safeguarding resource, and enforce policies and follow procedure.

Ensure gender inclusiveness in project implementation.

Ensure ESS&G framework in project implementation. 

Functions:

In more concrete terms the mandate includes lead project team for efficient execution and collaborate with head quarter and Donor.

Maintain accurate compliance records and reports along with promote understanding of compliance responsibilities and expectations amongst team members.

Implementation of different project interventions in the project area based on local suitability and evaluation of the intervention in contrast of climate vulnerability point of view.

Analyse local climate impact data, identifying challenges and participate in climatic impact assessment and climate risk analysis and framing and local level planning and execution.

Implement suitable climate adaptation and mitigation interventions for climate vulnerable population in urban slum.

Ensure close communication and collaboration with local government and administration and support activity planning on the related authorities.

Responsible for regular reporting and documentation and communication as per organization and donor need.

Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation.

Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
