Job Responsibilities:
∎ Violent 'clearance operations' in Myanmar have driven Rohingya's into makeshift settlements and camps in the area surrounding Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. Displaced Rohingya are destitute and distressed after fleeing violence - humanitarian need is high and Rohingya are heavily dependent on humanitarian assistance. Following the initial onset of the crisis, focus is now being paid to improving the reach and quality of the response. Project Manager will be responsible for implementing all CAID activities in CA supported camps in Cox's Bazar. The Project Manager is responsible to support the project stake holders representatives in the coordination of assistance and services at site level ensuring effective and meaningful community participation. This entails building strong partnerships with a diversity of stakeholders, ranging from refugees to humanitarian partners, local communities, and government authorities. The Project Manager works in close partnership with CA shelter/NFI, protection, site operations and community services and with the WFP and RRRC focal points, under the overall coordination and supervision of the Senior Emergency Response Manager.
∎ To support to Christian Aid's Rohingya Response Programme in Cox's Bazar. The Project Manager will be responsible for implementation of WFP funded DRR project under the supervision of Senior Emergency Response Manager. The Project Manager will ensure timely implementation of the DRR- structural mitigation works in designated camps and in host communities following the humanitarian principles and sector guidelines and standards. S/he will collect and maintain data for developing regular implementation and monitoring reports and documents. S/he will need to take on challenges to ensure a rapid, effective and timely response, holding overall responsibility for project achievements and results.
∎ Key outcomes of this position:
∎ Responsible for the implementation of WFP funded disaster risk reduction project in Ukhiya and Teknaf
∎ Carry out the initial need assessment to finalise the activities/shcemes to be undertaken in the project
∎ Ensure the work plan is closely followed up for timely implementation of the project activities
∎ Regular financial monitoring of the project to ensure effective utilization of the budget
∎ Supporting the MEAL team to have a robust monitoring and evaluation operational plan and ensuring it's implementation of monitoring activities
∎ Together with the team ensure the project activities in line with the humanitarian standards and sectoral guidelines
∎ Regular update the project progress and challenges to the senior management of CA and ensure timely resolving of the challenges
∎ Effectively communicating with WFP related to the project and provide all required information on time
∎ Keep track of all donor compliance requirements and ensure adherence
∎ Ensure that adequate staffing is in place for the activities, including an appropriate gender balance within the staff group. Ensure all staff are trained on the skills and values required
∎ Ensure that the organization's financial, logistics, security and human resources policies and procedures are fully implemented in relation to all project staff
∎ To maintain emergency preparedness and response capacity for CA in area of operation in case of influx or other risks/hazards
∎ Ensure appropriate coordination with all humanitarian partners as well as with national authorities (CiCs, UNOs, DC) and local structures
∎ Ensure the establishment/maintenance of appropriate sectoral coordination mechanisms, including working groups at the national and, if necessary, local level

Additional Requirements:
∎ The position requires following essential and desirable competencies and qualification:
∎ Essential:
∎ Significant proven work experience in delivering construction/infrastructure projects using Cash for Work modalities with UN/INGO/NGO. Managing a team that implemented directly CFW activities funded by WFP is a strong asset
∎ Experience in participating to CFW project implementation with proven experience in BoQ preparation and monitoring responsibilities
∎ Excellent coordination, report writing skills and proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint
∎ For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written)
∎ At least 5 years of experience in large scale International Humanitarian emergencies
∎ Demonstrated understanding of the phases of humanitarian response including preparedness and contingency, Disaster Risk Reduction, response and recovery
∎ Strong understanding of and experience implementing the Humanitarian Program Cyclen
∎ Able to demonstrate knowledge, understanding, experience and practice of humanitarian values and principles and able to motivate others to achieve results in complex situations without much supervision
∎ Ability to take into account the needs, skills, capacities and experience of crisis-affected people and apply these in the response
∎ Experience in site needs assessment and analysis
∎ Knowledge of Core Humanitarian Standards, Sphere and Red Cross Code of Conduct, and HAP
∎ Understanding of own role and that of Christian Aid and others within the humanitarian system.
∎ Demonstrate an understanding of coordination mechanisms.
∎ Others:
∎ Degree or equivalent in relevant technical discipline
∎ Knowledge of capacity building tools and techniques
∎ Good understanding of basic human rights and meeting the needs of the camp population
∎ Relevant experience, including strategic planning and management of a complex budget
∎ Relevant experience of project/programme management
∎ Ability to foster collaborative, transparent and accountable relationships through partners, including over distance
∎ Demonstrated understanding of UN/NGO security coordination and how to fit into it
∎ Desirable:
∎ Relevant post graduate degree in development or humanitarian subject
∎ Knowledge of the political, social and economic context of Bangladesh and the development issues and challenges it faces

Salary: Tk. 165000 - 200000 (Monthly)
