Experience:
Master’s Degree in any subject; preferably in Development Studies / Disaster Management / Environmental Science/Geography and Environment from a recognized University
At least 8 year experiences in the development field along with 4 year experiences in project management.
Knowledge and experience to work in Anticipatory Action, DRR, and emergency response
Demonstrate very strong leadership and management skills and ability to work in the team.
Sound knowledge of project cycle management
Excellent planning, analytical, organizational and decision making skills
Good working relationships with colleagues, partners, external actors and allies
Excellent communication skills including a high level of written and spoken English
Conversant in common IT applications (MS word, MS power point, internet browsing & e-mail communications)
Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure and meet deadlines
Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) <www.ypsa.org> is an organization for sustainable development working in greater Chattogram division since 1985. YPSA is implementing a project on “Anticipatory Action for landslides causing displacement for communities in Chattogram Districts in Bangladesh” in Chattogram district (Chattogram City Corporation & Banshkhali Upazila) in partnership with Save the Children. YPSA is inviting application from the experienced professionals with proven track record for the following position for the Project.
Duration: 15th September 2025 to 28th February 2026
Job responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate the project through maintaining project cycle management for achieving project goal and objectives
Develop project plan & budget, program & training guideline and project reports
Conduct the anticipatory action based community-based risk and vulnerability assessments and integrate into the local governmental disaster management committees (DMCs) for maximum efficacy.
Work for improving Early Response initiatives through disseminating Early warning messages to the vulnerable and affected populations
Development of the mapping of Impact-based forecasting focusing on landslides, flashflood and displacement
Capacity building of vulnerable communities, volunteers, stakeholders , DMCs, community people and interpretation groups, meteorologists/hydrologists on Anticipatory Action.
Ensure all deliverables of the project through periodic reviews and disseminate findings among relevant stakeholders
Engagement for community and institutional capacity by developing landslide early action protocol linked to displacement
Maintain linkage with related GO, City Corporation, upazila administration, municipalities, Disaster Management Committees, NGOs, civil society and other stakeholders
Facilitate different training, meeting, workshop and orientations with different stakeholders
Provide direction and support to project team to ensure the standards of project activities
Ensure that the project activities comply with the policies and regulations of the donor and the organization
Supervise, monitor and evaluate the project, work and performance of staff and take concrete steps to improve job performance.
Maintain gender-sensitive approach in all stages and maintain safeguarding measures
Any other task assigned by the Management
