Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context:

Partners in Health and Development (PHD) is a Bangladeshi development organization has been working in the public health sector over 32 years and currently implementing different projects in 21 districts. With support from UNFPA, PHD is implementing “SRH Service Delivery through Eastern Flood Response Project” in Noakhali and Feni District for which PHD intends to hire a competent Project Coordinator (PC) for proposed project.

Purpose of the position: The Project Coordinator for the “SRH Service Delivery through Eastern Flood Response Project” is responsible for leading and overseeing the delivery of sexual and reproductive health services to flood-affected communities through mobile medical camps and district hospital placements. This role involves coordinating with local health authorities, partner organizations, and stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective service delivery, particularly to vulnerable groups such as pregnant women and adolescents. The Coordinator also focuses on raising community awareness about available SRH services, monitoring the quality of care provided, and managing resources efficiently. Additionally, the position entails maintaining accurate records and preparing detailed reports on project activities, progress, and impact, ensuring that essential healthcare services reach those most in need during the flood response.

Job Responsibilities:

Under the technical supervision of UNFPA and in collaboration with CS-Office & assigned UHCs and relevant government institutions, the Project Coordinator will undertake the following tasks:

  • Lead a team of health service providers to support local health and family planning department to execute the district health plans;

  • Lead the planning and execution of SRH services in mobile medical camps and different facility-based service delivery, ensuring alignment with project objectives and health protocols

  • Establishment/revitalize the District hospital with technical support to fill-up the gaps with necessary/available skilled staff, equipment and logistics;

  • Support and mentor service providers (Medical officers. Nurses, midwives and other auxiliary medical service providers with a team building manner and objective    

  • Work closely and in consultation with district health management and PHD senior management and field-based staff in the implementation of the interventions. Responsibilities will also include to ensure the project are implemented in accordance with the agreed contracts and budgets, and safety and security of the staffs

  • Identify the capacity gaps and providing technical assistance and capacity building to the project staff to ensure the work plan is implemented within budget and in the prescribed time period

  • Participate in meetings and reviews and undertake monitoring missions to assess progress of implementation, field monitoring visits, Health Sector coordination meetings and other relevant forums

  • Prepare monthly reports, follow up reports, quarterly reports and case studies and review other reports

  • Any other assignment given by the PHD Management
