Responsibilities & Context: ESDO was established in 1988 with the aim of supporting poor and marginalized people affected by the devastating flood and gradually moving towards achieving a broader vision of achieving sustainable, secured, and resilient livelihoods for these poor and marginalized people through improving their overall sustainable development. For the last more than three and a half decades of its development journey, ESDO has set an outstanding example of a sustainable development model for the underprivileged communities of Bangladesh. ESDO has been working in the country's primarily unserved and underserved locations, nurturing a community-focused participatory approach and people's ownership. Consequently, the ESDO's working area has already established an enabling environment. We have made notable achievements in livelihood improvement, food security and nutrition, education, women's empowerment, health, the promotion of children's rights, adolescent and youth engagement, and the rights of ethnic minorities. During this long span, we have adapted to the changing situation and provided the most time-bound effective services, especially to the poor and disadvantaged people. Considering the government's development policies, we are currently implementing a considerable number of projects and programs, including a microfinance program, through a community-focused and people-centered approach to accomplish the government's development agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN as a whole. One of the most dynamic organizations, ESDO, is expanding its development interventions across 408 upazilas under 53 districts of Bangladesh, thereby reaching over 15 million impoverished and vulnerable individuals.
As partnership with Syngenta Foundation, ESDO is implementing the Nutrition in City Ecosystems (NICE) Project in Rangpur District. ESDO is inviting applications from interested qualified candidates for the position.

Project Duration: 11 months
Responsibilities:
- S/he should have sound knowledge and understanding on nutrition, health and project’s technical components and its implementation process.
- S/he should have skills in managing a team and ensure the quality implementation of project activities following the guidance of SFSA B field team and maintain deadline and technical integrity.
- Serve as liaison person to city corporations/municipalities, coordinate with development partners working in Nutrition at city levels (such as SUN, UNDP, WFP, FAO) e.g. to communicate and arrange steering committee meetings, with support as necessary;
- Assist in implementation of activities involving women and youth to improve the production and availability of diverse, local, nutritious, agro ecological foods;
- Facilitate the implementation of activities to increase knowledge and demand for diverse local, nutritious, agroecological foods;
- Oversee project monitoring and reporting, including that attention is paid to gender and inclusion;
- S/he will be responsible for overall coordination of implementing project activities and linkages with SFSA B.
- Stationed at NM project office, s/he will lead the project team and act as a mentor for the team members (PO).
- PC, having a valid driving license must be willing to do extensive field visits by motorcycle in rural areas.
- Specifically, we are seeking team members who possess expertise in the following areas:
- Multisectoral Stakeholders Platforms in Nutrition: Individuals experienced in fostering collaboration and partnerships among various stakeholders, including government bodies, NGOs, and community organizations, to promote nutrition-centric initiatives.
- Women and Youth Engagement: Team members who are adept at working with women and youth, and can devise innovative approaches to involve them in the city's food systems.
- Agripreneur Development: Professionals with a deep understanding of agriculture and entrepreneurship, capable of empowering local communities to develop sustainable agribusinesses.
- Social Behavior Change Communication: Experts who can design and implement effective communication strategies to drive positive behavioral changes related to nutrition and health practices. Through this SBCC the individuals should be well-versed in nutrition, dietary habits, and related interventions to address malnutrition and improve overall health outcomes.
