  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience managing multi-sectoral climate resilience or coastal adaptation projects.
  • Strong leadership and team management experience.
  • Excellent coordination, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven experience in project planning, budgeting and donor reporting.
  • Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound understanding of DRR, CCA, WASH, livelihood and nature-based interventions.
  • Fluency in English and Bengali, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, project management tools and data tracking systems.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to field locations.


Responsibilities & Context:

Responsible for:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to the project team for effective delivery of all components.
  • Prepare and manage annual, quarterly implementation plans and budgets.
  • Oversee the integration of thematic components (Community Engagement, WASH, Livelihood, Infrastructure, Mangrove).
  • Supervise field staff, ensuring technical backstopping, performance management, and professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with donor agreements, policies and organizational standards.
  • Conduct regular project review meetings and progress tracking sessions.
  • Coordinate with key government agencies, local authorities, development partners and academia.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with BWDB, DPHE, LGED, Forest, Agriculture, Fisheries and other relevant actors for joint planning and resource mobilization.
  • Ensure continuous communication and coordination with Friendship’s internal departments (Finance, Admin, Procurement, Communication and Evaluation & Researches).
  • Lead the planning and quality assurance of all interventions including capacity development, infrastructure, WASH, livelihood and ecosystem restoration.
  • Ensure timely procurement and logistic support for project implementation.
  • Monitor progress against project indicators and ensure corrective actions where required.
  • Guide the integration of DRR, CCA, gender inclusion and nature-based solutions into all activities.
  • Oversee periodic project evaluations, audits and donor reviews.
  • Oversee budget management, financial forecasting and expenditure tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with financial guidelines, procurement policy and donor requirements.
  • Review and approve financial documents, payment requests and fund utilization reports.
  • Ensure cost-effectiveness and transparency in all financial transactions.
  • Supervise and mentor all project field staff, providing continuous guidance and technical backstopping.
  • Identify training needs and facilitate skill enhancement for staff and community groups.
  • Promote a positive, ethical and learning-oriented work culture.

Activities:

  • Lead, plan, and supervise the overall implementation of project interventions across all thematic areas.
  • Manage and guide project field teams, ensuring clear task delegation, accountability and performance monitoring.
  • Facilitate coordination among thematic specialists and implementing partners.
  • Oversee project planning, budgeting, resource allocation and financial tracking.
  • Ensure quality assurance and compliance across all construction, livelihood, WASH and capacity development interventions.
  • Monitor progress, identify gaps and develop mitigation plans for timely implementation.
  • Facilitate coordination and liaison with relevant government and non-government stakeholders.
  • Prepare periodic progress, financial and evaluation reports for internal management and donor submission.
  • Lead project review and learning workshops, ensuring knowledge transfer and documentation.
