Educational Requirements:

∎ Interest or experience in creative/journalistic writing (case studies, stories from the field) and taking high quality and/or professional photos (own camera (not smartphone) a plus!)

∎ Comfortable conversing with programme beneficiaries to record stories, acquire written permission to document experience
∎ Willingness to learn new skills in media, writing, graphic design, communications

∎ About WASTE Bangladesh and FINISH Mondial Programme
∎ WASTE Bangladesh is a private consulting firm affiliated with WASTE Netherlands implementing FINISH Mondial Programme in Bangladesh. Financial Inclusion Improves Sanitation and Health (FINISH) Mondial (FM) is a 6-country strategic partnership between WASTE, Amref Flying Doctors and Aqua for All, funded in part by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, currently being implemented in India, Bangladesh, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Ethiopia. In 2021, the Bangladesh programme is being implemented in Sakhipur, Satkhira and Faridpur, Barguna, Kalaroa, Saidpur, Rangpur, Jamalpur and Gaibandha Municipalities and is envisaged to expand to other municipalities in the period 2022-2025.
∎ FINISH Mondial aims to sustainably expand access to sanitation and solid waste management through WASTE`s Diamond approach with a focus on providing market-based solutions to increase the demand for, and uptake of, improved sanitation facilities in the countries of operation by creating an enabling environment and enhancing the business environment for the access to improved sanitation facilities. In the long run, the programme aims to attain improved health status and improved sustained socio-economic status within its operational areas.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The primary purpose of the position is to perform organizational, administrative and programmatic responsibilities in managing the FINISH Mondial Bangladesh programme. S/he will also serve as a project management team member and is responsible for supporting the expert members of the FM team in administrative and communication actions as required for the team of WASTE Bangladesh.
∎ The Scope of Activities given below outlines some general tasks expected:
∎ Assistance to the Country Coordinator (CC)
∎ To ensure compliance with national by-laws and regulations to run multiple development programme and organisation;
∎ To maintain appropriate contact with local authorities, partners, institutions, civil society and other relevant stakeholders, including effective coordination and information exchange with them for smooth running of the organisation;
∎ Facilitation of meetings and events
∎ Planning and preparation for Supervisory Board meetings in close cooperation with the CC, circulate the agenda well in time in agreed upon format (annotated), minute taking and follow up on action points;
∎ Take minutes during meetings, recording, approve, organize, maintain the office filing system and disseminated to all concerned;
∎ Facilitate events such as strategic meetings, workshop or trainings organized by the FM Bangladesh team members. Promote the participation of relevant local actors and other key stakeholders in these events.
∎ Communications and Reporting
∎ To safeguard proper FM branding and use of FM value proposition and Diamond and other approaches based on the global communication handbook and branding guide;
∎ Prepare documents for external or internal communications and maintain team organisation;
∎ Maintain and document clear communication lines between stakeholders as a mean of ensuring smooth communication and information flows in a timely and accurate manner;
∎ Format information for internal and external communication - memos, emails, presentations, monthly and annual reports;
∎ Prepare and disseminate relevant information package and reports about FM's activities targeting local stakeholders with a view of fostering their understanding, acceptance and ownership of those activities;
∎ Provide support in the development, implementation and timely submission of monthly, quarterly, annual reports;
∎ Document, record and maintain an overview of the implementation of FM activities and their outcome of the FM team, NGO's and participating cities;
∎ Work with FM global communications working group to identify suitable topics, produce short articles, case studies, photo essays, etc. for the FM programme and website.
∎ Attending monthly FM global communications working group meetings (mostly virtual 1x per 6 weeks, possibility of meeting for workshop in person);
∎ Working with FM global communications working group and CC to develop (i) country-specific communications plans and media outreach; (ii) process flows for drafting, approving and printing major marketing materials; (iii) supporting country team in development of conference/event related materials.

∎ Office management
∎ Book team travel and accommodation arrangements as necessary;
∎ Act as an office manager by keeping up with office supply inventory;
∎ Maintain an updated record of local stakeholders contact details;
∎ Assist FM Bangladesh team on the hiring process, capacity building, role distribution of the team members;
∎ Assisting in administration activities for office, HR and logistical needs, and maintaining confidential information;
