Job Context:
∎ Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is a non-government development organization founded in 1958 by Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah, an eminent educationist, reformer, and Sufi with the aim of social and spiritual development of entire human community. DAM has been contributing for the betterment of the disadvantaged population through operating 35 institutions and also 8 sectors of development. Health Sector is one of the core sectors of DAM which has also been operating 7 institutions and 15 donor funded projects.
∎ DAM Health Sector is going to recruit a competent and self-motivated individual for the position of Program Officer of "Tobacco Control Advocacy for a Comprehensive TC Law Amendment and Tobacco Tax Increase" Project implemented by Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM), with the financial assistance of CTFK

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Prepare and update the lists of stakeholder’s/policy makers mapping about Law amendment for removal of DSA, ban e-cig and display tobacco product at POS and share with Project Coordinator;
∎ Organize advocacy meetings with BROA, Bangladesh International Hotels Association, Hotel, Motel and Guest House Federation, other relevant stakeholders for supporting and raising voices about removing DSA at the hospitality sector through amending the TC Law;
∎ Prepare Champions (at least 05) lists and advocacy for raising voice and play role as advocates for removing DSA by the law;
∎ Assist BROA/other groups in organizing a discussion meeting with MOCAT/other ministries and its institutions on the importance of law amendment;
∎ Continuous advocacy with BROA, BIHA, and hospitality sector association for supporting to remove of DSA by providing request letter to the government/policymakers;
∎ Use Champions for raising voice and play role as advocates for banning display tobacco products and banning e-cig by the law; organize dissemination of RSA findings and advocacy meeting with Ministry of Commerce about banning E-cig. or vaping tobacco;
∎ Release the combine report of TAPS survey through online dissemination with relevant ministry, stakeholders and journalists;
∎ Advocacy with LGD for circulating various notices on implementation of common guideline;
∎ Undertake month long campaign on tobacco taxation and tobacco control law;
∎ Organize advocacy meeting with UGC for provide directives to all Universities to avoid any kinds of interventions/ programs/ projects funded by TIs (Foundation for Smoke Free World);
∎ Conduct live discussion programs in social media on various TC issues including law amendment;
∎ Assist to develop IEC/BCC materials and regular advocacy (day to day communication and follow-up) with the assigned stakeholders.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ 7+ years of comprehensive work experience or advocacy campaigns, preferably in the context of an development sector will be preferable;
∎ Experience in working with Policy Makers and Government Stakeholders;
∎ Consultative and collaborative approach to handle multiple tasks in fast-paced environment;
∎ Strong project management skills, fine attention to details, and ability to deliver project goals in a timely fashion;
∎ Communication, report writing, presentation and negotiation skills;
∎ Proficient in English (oral and written).
∎ Age at most 45 years (Age may be considered for experienced candidate).
