Education: Bachelor in relevant discipline preferably in Social Science, Climate Change, Disaster Management, environmental science, geography, agriculture etc. from a reputable university (qualification can be flexible depending on experiences).
Requirements: Skills Required: Additional Requirements: 3 years’ experience in implementing projects preferably in the areas of climate adaptation and resilience building.
Skills in developing both qualitative and quantitative reports.
Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
Excellent facilitation and communication skills with fluency in both spoken and written English.
Proficient in using Microsoft and Google online tools for seamless productivity and collaboration.
Conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results.
Ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholder and project beneficiaries.
Responsibilities & Context: Job Context:
Association for Community Development (ACD) is looking for a suitable applicant for its project ‘Cultivating Change’ The project will work with rural women and their communities for (i) increased food, nutrition and income security, (2) secured land and resource rights and (3) increased resilience to climate change and with their movements are leading climate action.
Job Responsibilities:
- Strengthen women’s knowledge through organizing meetings on climate change impacts, financing, disaster preparedness drills, social forestry activities, garden vegetation/livestock management in disaster prone areas.
- Support community resource hub for evidence gathering, information exchange, rejuvenating local agriculture practices, seeds bank & food bank, technology transfer, capacity development, building awareness on rights and entitlements of women.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and promoting capacity-building events of the projects.
- Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
- Conduct field visits and meetings to monitor project progress and implementation quality.
- Maintain regular communication with government officials, CSOs, local government institutions, youths, NGOs, CBOs and women leaders.
- Prepare progress reports and documentation on events as per deadlines.
- Ensure project activities are implemented according to established project principles with adequate community participation.
