Experience:
Minimum Bachelor`s Degree from a reputed public / private university (preferable discipline in Civil Engineering / Environmental Engineering / Public Health / Disaster Management / Urban & Regional Planning etc.)
At least 10 years’ experience in WASH Sector.
Minimum 3 to 5 years’ field experience in refugee camp settings.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in both Bangla and English.
Skilled in using digital tools for real-time data collection.
Efficiently handles multiple tasks.
Responsibilities:
Project Monitoring & Implementation: Oversee the implementation of WASH interventions in coordination with UNICEF, NGOs, and the local Government of Cox`s Bazar.
Development of BCC and IEC Materials: Create Behavior Change Communication (BCC) and Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials aimed at promoting hygiene.
WASH Infrastructure Supervision: Monitor the functionality of existing WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) interventions and assess solid waste management practices in target areas.
Site Selection & Risk Assessment: Manage the selection of sites for WASH infrastructure by considering factors such as landslide risks, accessibility, drainage, and ground conditions.
Quality Assurance & Compliance: Conduct regular site visits to inspect the progress of WASH infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with design standards and material quality.
Progress Reviews & Reporting: Provide quarterly progress reviews to UNICEF and its partners, discussing project achievements, barriers, and challenges. Prepare and submit comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and final yearly reports.
Database Management & Reporting: Maintain a detailed database for each water point, latrines, bathing units, and FSM (Fecal Sludge Management) sites. Submit daily reports on construction progress and necessary remedial actions.
WASH KAP Survey: Conduct quarterly Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices (KAP) surveys to assess gaps and progress in the WASH sector.
Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with stakeholders, including UNICEF, NGOs, and local authorities, ensuring smooth communication and reporting of daily progress at both camp and host community levels.
WASH Infrastructure Visibility: Support visibility efforts of WASH activities at camps and host communities by checking the progress of works at various stages.
