Job Context:
∎ Lepra is a UK- based international charity organization, working in Bangladesh since 2000, is going to implement Mind to Heart(M2H) project in Bogra district with an aim that people affected by Leprosy will take part leadership roles in their community and will carry out actions for their sustainable physical, social, economic, and mental wellbeing. This is 12 months project with Bogura Federation funded by Sasakawa Health Foundation.
∎ To ensure the quality implementation of the project, Lepra Bangladesh intends to recruit a Professional Counselor from qualified candidates of Bangladeshi nationals.
∎ Reporting Supervisor: Project Officer
∎ Contact Duration: 12 months with first 3 months probationary period
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The professional counselor will be responsible for counseling the people affected by leprosy and other disability with an aim to ensure mental well-being. The main responsibilities include but not limited:
∎ Provide technical guidance, coaching and mentoring to the Mental Motivators on standard counseling tools and technique
∎ Provide individual or group counseling, advice and support to targeted beneficiaries on a range of personal issues of concern with an aim to reduce stigma and discrimination
∎ Prepare monthly counseling and progress reports and submit to Project Officer.
∎ Develop structural counseling mechanism and proper documentation.
∎ Assess whether clients may have other problems, which need specialist attention and refer as required.
∎ Maintain all necessary documents maintaining confidentiality and recall system for those clients who may need follow-up.
∎ Maintain liaison and good communication with district hospital mental health department
∎ Carry out home and follow-up visits to patients.
∎ Participate in SSG meeting and federation periodical meeting and give update.
∎ Take lead to case base follow up mechanism.
∎ Participate in the assessment like PHQ-9 or stigma survey
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 40 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
Salary: Negotiable
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Weekly 2 holidays
∎ Mobile bill, internet bill, travel allowance and medical facility up to taka 25,000/-
