Experience:
Help plan lessons and coaching sessions
Assist to teach a range of sports and physical activities to students of different ages and abilities
To help organise sports days, field trips and matches with other schools.
Ensuring that children compete to their ability level and aren’t exposed to unnecessary injury or illness through school sports
Motivating school children to take up new sports or athletic pursuits.
To contribute to evaluating the performance of students throughout the school year
To train and coach school sports teams to compete and succeed in sports tournaments
To be responsible for transporting individual competitors and/or school teams to and from school sporting events
Ensure the maintenance of a clean, orderly and safe working environment making sure that equipment/resources/materials are set out on time and as per instructions received and used safely to enable pupils meet their learning targets.
Assist the PE teacher and class teacher with learning activities ensuring health and safety and good behaviour of pupils.
Support the whole classes, small groups or individual pupils in accessing learning activities as directed by the PE teacher and class teacher to enable pupils’ progress towards their targets.
Be aware of and support differences to ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
Undertake basic record keeping in respect of pupil learning, behaviour management, well-being, child protection etc., as directed in order to support the PE teacher deliver the specific learning and other programmes set for each child.
Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety, security and confidentiality, reporting all concerns to ensure pupils’ wellbeing.
Undertake training and other learning activities and attend relevant meetings (within contracted hours) as required to ensure your own continuing professional development.
Maintain school PE equipment to a high standard.
Run extra-curricular sports activities throughout the year such as football, cricket, swimming, handball etc.
Take part in continuous professional development sessions and staff meetings as required.
To be competent in motor skills and child development per student age.
To be able to diagnose a motor skill and provide feedback to help students improve their skills
