Responsibilities & Context:

This is a senior operational role within the office of an elected Member of Parliament. The Parliamentary Affairs Officer will serve as the primary point of coordination across policy research, parliamentary documentation, internal operations, and constituency impact tracking.

Given the scale and structure of a newly established parliamentary office in Bangladesh, this role is intentionally broad in scope. The successful candidate will be expected to operate across multiple functions, shifting between substantive policy work, administrative coordination, and operational problem-solving as the needs of the office demand. This is consistent with the realities of public sector and constituency-level work in Bangladesh, and candidates with experience in similarly dynamic, resource-conscious environments will find this role well-suited to their background.

The position carries significant responsibility and requires someone who takes initiative, builds systems independently, and is comfortable defining their own priorities in the absence of a large support structure. The successful candidate will have direct and regular access to the MP and will work closely with the office's senior advisory support, a rare opportunity to receive mentorship and direct access to an elected official while contributing meaningfully to the legislative and constituency work of a sitting Member of Parliament.
