Educational Requirements:
∎ B.Sc. in nursing or relevant subject

Job Responsibilities:
∎ A) Admissions of eligible beneficiaries (children U5 with severe & Moderate acute malnutrition without medical complications in the OTP&TSFP sites:
∎ Warm welcoming to the caregivers and beneficiaries.
∎ Decide which patients are at major risk and need special care in phase I refer to inpatient.
∎ Decide which patients should be admitted rapidly with an abbreviation history and examination after formal admission and the start of treatment.
∎ Monitor, prevent and treat hypothermia,
∎ Monitor, prevent and treat hypoglycemia,
∎ Diagnose and refer dehydration cases to the inpatient.
∎ Follow up of the anthropometric measurement of the children (height, weight, MUAC, checking bilateral oedema and W/H percentage) taken by measurers.
∎ Explain the treatment and follow up procedures in the OTP site, especially follow up of the medical and nutrition treatment.
∎ Follow up of the registration of all the beneficiaries in the OTP (registration book ID number, medical and nutrition treatment sheets, follow up card ID number, bracelet with ID number).
∎ Explain the importance of hygiene and sanitation in the centre and at home (nail cutting, washing hands before taking meal and after latrine.
∎ Implement systematic treatment according to the protocols (vit A, folic acid, de-worming, antibiotics, and vaccinations).
∎ Follow up and implement of the medical treatment for severe acute malnourished children in the OTP sites.
∎ To do full anthropometric assessment and identify the MAM children and malnourished PLW.
∎ To admit the MAM children and malnourished PLW following appropriate admission criteria and checking medical history.
∎ Explain the treatment and follow up procedures in the TSFP site, especially the medical and nutritional treatment.
∎ To provide unique beneficiary ID number and record all the information about the beneficiary during admission.
∎ (if applicable) To provide medical treatment following MAM treatment protocol during admission
∎ B) Follow up in the treatment phases in the OTP/TSFP sites :
∎ Calculation, distribution and monitoring of therapeutic food (RUTF) according to the standard protocols for the beneficiaries.
∎ Encouragement of breastfeeding and initiate supplementary Suckling technique (SST) for appropriate children.
∎ Follow up of the anthropometric measurements taken by measurer according to the protocols, admission day on weekly bases and record in the registration book, follow up cards for each beneficiary.
∎ Ensure that the systematic treatment and drugs are given correctly to the beneficiaries.
∎ Identified patient who need to be transfer to inpatient, patient with failure to respond to treatment and patients who need to be discharged.
∎ Follow up of the gain weight and feedback to the caregivers.
∎ Follow up of the hygiene and sanitation rules in the centre and during treatment follow up.
∎ Follow up of the medical treatment of beneficiaries transferred from inpatient to the OTP for continuation of their treatment.
∎ Monitoring of the anthropometric measurements of the MAM children (height, weight, MUAC, bilateral edema and W/H z-score) and malnourished PLW (MUAC, height, weight) during follow up visits.
∎ Record keeping of the follow up information in the registration book of all the beneficiaries in the TSFP.
∎ To monitor weight changes of the child beneficiaries and record any cases of static weight and/or weight loss.
∎ (if applicable) To check medical history during follow up, whether the beneficiary takes appropriate medicines from any other medical facility during the intermediary time period since admission.
∎ Calculation, distribution and monitoring of therapeutic food (RUSF) according to the standard protocols for the beneficiaries.
∎ To identify patients that need to be transferred to OTP, are non-responders and need to be discharged on any other criteria.
∎ Follow up of the gain weight and feedback to the caregivers.
∎ C) AT discharge
∎ Check if all the procedures completed before discharge (anthropometric measurements, medical and nutritional treatment, systematic treatment, and health and nutrition educations).
∎ Record all the necessary information on the registration book and card for each beneficiary.
∎ Identification of absence and defaulters from OTP/TSFP sites and follow up at home CNV Supervisors and or Community Nutrition Volunteers (CNV).
∎ To refer the non-responder beneficiaries in the nearby medical facilities for full medical checkup and identify whether there is any other problem.
∎ D) Health and nutrition educations
∎ Provide health and nutrition educations to the caregivers and beneficiaries on (breastfeeding, complementary feeding, and hygiene, care of pregnant and lactating women, prevention of illness).
∎ To provide counseling (if required) to the beneficiaries.
∎ To provide basic knowledge on hygiene practices and follow up.
∎ E) Reporting and statistic of the centre
∎ Keep a tally of all the beneficiaries admitted and discharged from the OTP sites (admission, cured, defaulters, death, transfer and referral) by age group and admission criterion used. Know the complement of the beneficiaries (number in the centre, census of the patient) on a daily and weekly base.
∎ Record the absence of the beneficiaries in the different phases for home visiting and follow up.
∎ To prepare a monthly report on TSFP beneficiaries (following all the admission and discharge criteria of TSFP) and submit to the TCN.
∎ To prepare monthly distribution report of RUSF and submit to the Site Supervisor.
∎ Record the absentees and defaulters of the beneficiaries in the different phases for home visiting and follow up.
∎ Daily recording of cases with static weight and weight loss and share with CNV supervisor for home visiting.
∎ To prepare monthly report on number of counseling sessions and beneficiaries that took part in the sessions.
∎ F) Drugs and therapeutic feeding products Stock management:
∎ Prepare therapeutic feeding products requisitions, consumption and balance stock.
∎ Prepare medical requisitions, consumption and balance stock.
∎ Flexibility and mobility are required at any time of the program implementation.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 6 months experience in managing SAM & MAM children/ nutrition project
∎ Must be able to read and write English.
∎ Should be able to work under minimal supervision and hard situation
∎ Organisation skills are necessary

Salary: Tk. 47000 (Monthly)
