∎ Reporting to the Hospital Project Manager, the Ortho-Prosthetist will contribute to the implementation of the Physical Rehabilitation Project activities in accordance to agreed objectives and related strategies, particularly in relation to improved quality and capacity of prosthetics and orthotics (P&O) and wheelchair service provision.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Supports ICRC partners in Savar, Chattogram, and Barishal, conducts regular visits and monitors the quality of physical rehabilitation services
∎ Supports the Multidisciplinary Team between Physiotherapy and Prosthetic-Orthotic, in collaboration with the P&O mobile staff
∎ Helps to promote best practices in coordination with the physical rehabilitation team and is actively involved in discussing services regarding complicated/complex cases
∎ Supports the Mobile P&O Team in the implementation of the annual BFTA exercise and provide clinical and hands on training to the P&O departments, as required, to address knowledge and clinical gaps
∎ Manages the Patient Referral Mechanism (PRM) with the BDRCS and patients from DPR. Plan & implement PRM Information Session(s) with BDRCS volunteers and stakeholders
∎ Ensure the continuum of care by referring individuals in need of further rehabilitation or vocational/ occupational rehabilitation after their discharge to the appropriate structure
∎ Maintains a strong working relation with BDRCS branches, ICRC Cox's Bazar office health team, and other relevant counterpart and share relevant PRM including info and statistics. represent the ICRC in meetings, related to PRP
∎ Contributes in delivering training and coaching within his/her specialty based on ICRC internal guidelines and internationally validated recommendations
∎ Supports the PRP Social Inclusion Program and events related to disability sports, as required
∎ Reports regularly to PRPM, the progress of PRP activities and any constraints and monitor the P&O stock consumption in ICRC supported centres and contribute to PRP annual reports (PfR & Budget)
∎ Compiles Medical Activities Database (MAD), monthly statistics of the Patient Referral Mechanism (PRM) and forward to PRPM
∎ Plans, organizes and carries out technical monitoring/follow-up visits to Physical Rehabilitation Center's supported by ICRC followed by analytical report when needed
∎ Implements ICRC/PRP management tools like: MAD, BF&TA, EMSAT, & Cost Calculation etc. in agreement and coordination with the PRP partners
∎ Plans, estimates and orders required equipment, tools, material and components, if needed
∎ Documents good practices, lessons learned trends, cross-cutting policy and implementation issues, etc.
∎ Carries out any other duties and tasks that may be assigned in relation to the Bangladesh Physical Rehabilitation Project

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 4 years of working experience as an ortho-prosthetist, with at least 2 years with a wide scope of practice.
∎ Experience in an international context a strong asset.
∎ Experience in working in a multi-disciplinary team an asset.
∎ Personal qualities for the position:
∎ Ability to work independently, with the capacity to take initiative as and when required
∎ Sound analytical skills
∎ Ability to work under pressure; and being flexible, open to extra working hours if necessary
∎ Adaptability and capacity to integrate changes and deal with a huge volume of work
∎ Ability to exercise discretion and handle confidential matters effectively
∎ Confirmed capacity to work independently
∎ Good team leadership skills
