Experience Requirements:
Minimum 1–3 years of experience in hospital service as optometrist (experience in ophthalmology will be preferred).
Fresh graduates may also apply if willing to work in specialized eye care.

Since 2009, Youth for Bangladesh has been working to meet the basic needs of the homeless, helpless, street children, and underprivileged people, as well as to eradicate hunger and poverty. At present, several of our social initiatives are ongoing, among which the notable ones are Valo Kajer Hotel, Daily Ten School, Apon Ghor Old Age Home, Apon Ghor Cancer Shelter Home, Eye Hospital and the Self-Reliance Project, and so on. Youth for Bangladesh is dedicated to providing healthcare services to the community. We are currently looking for a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Optometrist/Refractionist to join our team and assist in delivering high-quality ophthalmic care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
The position will closely work with the Ophthalmologists/Medical Officer (MO) and will assist the Ophthalmologists/Medical Officer in getting patient information and identifying patients` problems.
Perform a vision test and analyze the result.
Assist Ophthalmologists during examinations, procedures, and surgeries.
He will also conduct a subjective evaluation of eye health problems by using modern equipment and general diagnostic interpretation, including refraction through a comprehensive eye examination.
Identify refractive errors, cataracts, and other eye health diseases, and conduct screening of diabetic retinopathy, DR (diabetic retinopathy) image capturing and grading, and DR image storing.
Assist the Medical Officer in confirming the diagnosis of all eye health problems, including DR grading. Ensure the drugs and spectacles requirements.
Conduct follow-ups of post-surgery patients, i.e., cataract, and maintain records.
Conduct teleconsultation with the ophthalmologist of a partner eye hospital for surgery cases as and when required.
Dispense and adjust eyewear and vision aids tailored to individual needs.
Coordinate patient follow-up and ensure appropriate care pathways are established.
Educate and counsel patients on visual hygiene and provide guidance on preventive optical care.
Provide exceptional customer service while upholding clinic standards.
Supervise the staff
He will refer and track the patients who need further treatment from the Eye Hospital and need follow-up from the eye unit.
Willingness to work for outreach/subjective evaluation activities at the community level.
Support and maintain eye medication stock, requisition, and inventory.
Support data management and reporting in software as and when required.
Support the visits of different officers and explain the activities as required.
Educate patients on eye care, medication use, and post-treatment guidelines.
Salary: Negotiable (based on qualification and experience).
