Job Title: Optometrist

Job Context

We are looking for a skilled, patient-oriented, and professional Optometrist to join our eye care team. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for vision screening and refraction. You will work closely with our Ophthalmology Consultants to ensure comprehensive eye care, accurate vision correction, and efficient patient management.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform precise objective and subjective refractions to detect visual acuity issues, refractive errors, and binocular vision anomalies.

• Prescribe appropriate corrective eyeglasses, contact lenses, and low-vision aids based on patient needs.

• Conduct specialized diagnostic tests using modern ophthalmic equipment (e.g., Auto-Refractometer, Tonometer, Perimetry, OCT, B-Scan) as advised by the consultants.

• Identify signs of common ocular diseases (such as cataracts, glaucoma, or diabetic retinopathy) and timely refer patients to senior ophthalmologists.

• Educate patients on proper eye health, contact lens hygiene, and visual ergonomics.

• Assist in organizing patient workflows in the Outpatient Department (OPD) to ensure a smooth clinic experience.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Optometry / Diploma in Optometry from a recognized institute or university.

Experience Requirements

Fresh graduates with strong clinical internship backgrounds and solid practical skills are also encouraged to apply.

Additional Requirements

• High proficiency in operating modern ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and lensometers.

• Excellent communication skills in both Bengali and English, with a polite and welcoming demeanor toward patients.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure in a high-volume OPD.
