Job Context:
∎ CSF Global (formerly Child Sight Foundation http://csf-global.org) is an international organization, operating in Bangladesh since year 2000, ensuring equal rights and services for children with blindness, cerebral palsy, and other disability. CSF Global is currently operating in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Nepal and Australia.
∎ CSF Global is engaged in advancing research and services for persons with disability and is committed to generate high quality evidence on childhood disability (e.g. blindness, cerebral palsy) through translational research and provide comprehensive services for establishment of rights-based inclusive societies for children with disability in low and middle-income countries.
∎ CSF Global is currently collaborating with several international organizations of repute and its projects are funded by both national and international organizations including USAID, the University of Sydney and Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation, Australia.
∎ CSF Global is looking for five (05) Optic Technicians for their project titled "CSF `Dristi Kendro` (Vision Centre) - a sustainable model for eye care in low- and middle-income country". As part of the project, five (05) CSF Vision Centres will be established in Rajshahi, Noagaon and Tangail districts in Bangladesh. The optic technician will closely work with optometrist and the rest of the project team to provide primary eye care services to children and adults at the centres and outreach examination camps. S/He will be responsible for local capacity building in primary eye care screening and maintain liaison with the stakeholders at the service sites.
∎ This project is made possible by the generous support of the American People through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and is implemented by CSF Global in collaboration with BNSB Eye Hospital, Professor Matin Eye Care System and University of South Asia in Bangladesh.
∎ Job location: Rajshahi, Noagaon and Tangail district in Bangladesh
∎ Job nature: Contractual
∎ Contract length: 20 months

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide, adjust, and repair spectacles as prescribed by the optometrists.
∎ Assist the optometrists to establish and maintain a schoolteachers network for school-based eye screening programs at the project area.
∎ Assist the optometrists to provide training to schoolteachers in the project area on primary eye screening following a standard protocol.
∎ Assist the optometrists to maintain a database for children who received school-based primary eye screening.
∎ Assist the optometrists to conduct primary eye screening and correction of refractive error of children and adults seeking services at the centres
∎ Assist the optometrists to coordinate monthly outreach eye examination camps and provide services to children and adults at the project area.
∎ Assist the optometrists to maintain day-to-day activities and reporting.
∎ Assist the optometrists to achieve targets and expand eye care services for children and adults to the remote/distant places of the project area.
∎ Attend the working group meetings on a regular basis and take necessary actions against the action points raised at the meeting.
∎ Perform other related duties for national and international projects of CSF Global, as and when assigned.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 1 year experience of working as an optic technician at any eye care service centre in Bangladesh.
∎ We are looking for active team members who are seeking opportunities for hands-on training on providing eye care services to children and adults in rural settings of Bangladesh. The ideal candidate should be willing to work in a team to provide and expand primary eye care services for children and adults at need living in rural and remote parts in selected districts, should have good communication skills, is willing to travel frequently and adapt with challenging environments such as providing health care services in emergency situation e.g. COVID-19.
∎ Competency in verbal and writing skills in both Bangla and English language.

Salary: Tk. 10000 - 12000 (Monthly)

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Other benefits include monthly mobile bill, weekly one holiday, two festival benefits in a year equivalent to two basic salaries, provision of leave as per organizational administrative and service rules.
