AKIJ Resource is looking for Officer/Senior Officer (Taxation) for its corporate department. The incumbent will be responsible for preparing and reviewing audited financial accounts to ensure they are accurate, complete, and compliant with accounting standards. This role involves compiling financial data, preparing reports for audits, and supporting external audit processes. The officer will work closely with the finance and accounting teams to ensure that all financial records are ready for auditing and that the company adheres to regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review financial accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant accounting standards.

• Compile and analyze financial data, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in preparation for external audits.

• Coordinate with external auditors to provide required information and address any queries or discrepancies.

• Ensure that all financial records are audit-ready and that any identified issues are promptly resolved.

• Ensure that financial data is accurately recorded and reported, facilitating a smooth audit process.

• Ensure that all audit-related documentation is complete, accurate, and easily accessible for review.

• Assist in evaluating and improving the company’s internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure accurate financial reporting, and prevent fraud.

• Support the implementation of recommendations from audit findings to enhance the company’s financial practices.

• Work closely with the finance, accounting, and compliance teams to ensure that financial information is accurate and reflects the company’s operations.

• Communicate effectively with external auditors and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth audit process.

• Participate in continuous professional development to stay updated on auditing best practices and accounting standards.
