Responsibilities & Context:
∎ The Officer - People & Culture (P&C) is a vital role tasked with overseeing personnel administration while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and relevant regulations. This position emphasizes fostering a positive and engaged work environment through effective policy interpretation, employee relations management, grievance handling, and support for staff well-being. Additionally, the Officer will facilitate learning and development initiatives and manage the separation process and exit formalities. By aligning HR practices with organizational goals, the Officer - P&C will help cultivate a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and continuous improvement. 1.Staff Attendance and Leave Management: Accurately maintain employee attendance records, including daily timekeeping, leave applications, and sick leave documentation. Process and maintain comprehensive leave records in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Regularly monitor leave balances to ensure adherence to leave regulations, providing guidance as needed. Develop and implement strategies aimed at enhancing attendance rates and minimizing absenteeism through targeted interventions and support.2. Learning & Development: Coordinate and facilitate training programs, ensuring active employee participation and timely execution. Design and implement comprehensive training initiatives to enhance staff skills and knowledge. Collaborate with department managers to identify training needs aligned with performance evaluations and organizational goals. Track and assess training effectiveness, using feedback and data to continuously improve program quality. Maintain accurate records of all training and capacity-building activities, providing reports as needed. Support employee career development through targeted learning opportunities and growth plans. Manage the training budget, ensuring cost-effective planning and execution of programs. Stay current with industry best practices and trends to strengthen the organization’s learning strategy. 3. Mandatory & Online Training Follow-Up:Track and ensure employees complete mandatory training programs in a timely manner. Submit follow up report accordingly to Manager-P&C 4. Employee Relations and Engagement:Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive work environment by promoting open communication, fairness, and collaboration. Address employee concerns and grievances promptly and professionally, ensuring resolution in line with organizational policies. Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to boost morale, motivation, and retention. Promote work-life balance and cultivate a culture of recognition and appreciation across all levels. Monitor employee engagement levels and recommend improvements based on feedback and observations. Organize and facilitate team-building activities, all-staff meetings, weekly devotion sessions, Day of Prayer and other engagement events that strengthen workplace unity.5.Compliance & Policy Interpretation: Interpret and apply company policies to various situations, providing clear guidance to both employees and management.
