Job Context:

∎ Reporting Line: Field Team Leader
∎ Contract period: Up to June 2023
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsible for all project activities within the assigned district including identifying potential market actors, WASH entrepreneurs, dealers, retailers, lead firms
∎ Building and maintaining strong relationship with all stakeholders including Government, NGO/INGOs, private sectors and others to ensure effective implementation of the project activities
∎ Implement a variety of market linkages, supply chain, technology introduction and business development activities related to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH)
∎ Build rapport and trust with WASH entrepreneurs for effective communication and linkage development
∎ Assess and improve skills and competencies of WASH market actors (e.g. latrine producers, water entrepreneurs, hand washing station producers, etc.) and businesses on a diverse range of business skills such as financial literacy, marketing, supply chain linkages, public sector linkages, and technical capacity, etc.
∎ Increase market penetration for selected WASH technologies
∎ Increase market penetration for selected WASH technologies and Co-facilitate WASH product demand creation activities
∎ Assess and improve skills & competencies of WASH entrepreneurs on a diverse range of business skills like finance, business planning, quality management, human resource management, etc
∎ Work together with the entrepreneurs to ensure linkage with the WASH Value Chain Actor
∎ Facilitate WASH entrepreneurs to establish and maintain business networks at upazila levels and linked with wider area like District, Regional & National level to build profitable business relationships between entrepreneurs and others PSAs.
∎ Assist Field Team Leader and Technical Specialists to manage and operate all the field level activities of BNA
∎ Follow the work plan and central instruction and perform accordingly to achieve the project goal
∎ Prepare event repots along with other necessary reports and assist FTL for preparing the final report.
∎ Maintain close contact and communication for project planning, strategy formulation and other issues with supervisors and partners, counterparts, service providers, government, private sector and project participants
∎ Carry out responsibilities in financial management and administration at the local level and ensure the efficient use and maintenance of the project resources in consultation with supervisors
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 3-4 years of working experience on market system development on WASH or other relevant field
∎ Familiarity and experience with project management and implementation
∎ Considerable understanding and knowledge on rural markets, and rural WASH service provision
∎ Previous experience in working with private sectors is preferable
∎ Experience in business planning with WASH Services
∎ Adequate knowledge in project finance
∎ Relevant understanding of the technical, social, and other constraints in the development field
∎ Ability to responsibly manage district level funds, monitoring and team progress
∎ Ability to plan and implement iterative field level activities for market systems change
∎ Understands the facilitative role and local market development approach
∎ Experience of value chain approaches, market development and deep dive research
∎ Energetic and focused approach to sales coaching and mentoring
∎ Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
∎ Self-motivated, energetic and team player
∎ Ability to work with various national and international team members and flexibility to adapt in different working conditions
∎ Ability to interact and collaborate with a broad range of public and private sector and NGO partners
∎ Ability to travel and undertake fieldwork in rural context
∎ Ability to drive motorcycles and have valid driving license
∎ Physical fitness required for frequent field visits and travels
∎ Written and oral communication skills in English, including ability to present coherent and convincing messages to different audiences
∎ Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail and the internet google platform
