Job Context:
∎ iDE Bangladesh is looking for qualified Evidence & Analytics Officer for Sanitation Market Systems (SanMarkS II) Project in Bangladesh. The goal of the project is to increase access to sanitation facilities in Bangladesh using iDE`s systems-based approach to sanitation. The incumbent in this position will be responsible to manage the day-to-day monitoring and evaluation-related activities of the project. S/he will provide technical backstopping for result monitoring related tasks and internal study to the project field teams and maintain strong and effective coordination between the management and implementation.
∎ Reporting Line: Specialist, Analytics and Learning
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The responsibilities of the Evidence & Analytics (E&A) Officer include but are not limited to the descriptions below.
∎ Design and Planning:
∎ Contribute to developing and reviewing the Monitoring and result measurement (MRM) plan;
∎ Assist in developing a to measure market constraints and changes due to project interventions;
∎ Support in study design, deployment, data analysis, and reporting
∎ Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning:
∎ Follow up on the timely execution of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Plans of the project
∎ Report on Performance Indicators and Management Dashboard on regular bass
∎ Lead the capacity building of the program team in understanding results data, and in coordination with Program and learning to ensure the MRM system
∎ Planning, and Strategy Development:
∎ Facilitate framing the strategic direction of the project in collaboration with the Management
∎ Ensure the application of iDE's sanitation market system approach
∎ Support the program and implementation team in planning and provide technical guidance for strategy formulation and implementation to achieve required changes in the market system
∎ Data Collection and Analysis:
∎ Facilitating assessments/ studies as per program requirement (deep dives research, quarterly quality assessment, annual surveys, case studies)
∎ Provide measurement information, analyses and interpretation for reporting
∎ Conduct periodic data quality assessments and share reports with the stakeholders
∎ Support in data analysis and report writing/editing
∎ Reporting and Documentation:
∎ Prepare periodic Monitoring and Result Measurement (MRM) reports as per the MRM manual
∎ Support in writing the programmatic report with results, analyses and interpretations regularly
∎ Facilitate and document activity-based, output and outcome case stories regularly
∎ Assist program documentation and ensure high-quality documentation
∎ Coordination and Support:
∎ Maintain close contact and communication for project planning, strategy formulation and other issues with the supervisor, technical specialists, and institutional support teams
∎ Quarterly travel to all field hubs at least once for problem-solving and facilitating MRM systems
∎ Other Responsibilities:
∎ Facilitate periodic MRM review, planning and sharing sessions with the project team
∎ Maintain use of online platforms for sharing reports, documents and data
∎ Undertake any other additional tasks subject to workload and skill
Additional Requirements:
∎ Work Experience:
∎ Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Monitoring and Results Measurement/ M&E in rural development projects;
∎ Ability to use standard software for data management/analysis such as SPSS, STATA, R, Atlast ti and other advanced software for data analysis will be an added advantage.
∎ Personal Skills:
∎ Excellent interpersonal, facilitation and leadership skills
∎ Self-motivated, energetic and team player
∎ Good analytical and problem-solving skills
∎ Ability to work with various national and international team members and flexibility to adapt to different work conditions, and remote rural settings
∎ Ability to interact and collaborate with a broad range of public and private sector and NGO partner
∎ Physical and Language Skills:
∎ Ability to travel and undertake fieldwork in rural context
∎ Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Bangla including ability to present coherent and convincing messages to different audiences
∎ Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail and the internet, Google Apps, data studio
