Job Context:
∎ iDE Bangladesh is looking for a qualified Officer-Enterprise Development for the anticipated Enterprise Development Project.
∎ The Officer Enterprise Development is responsible for overall implementation of project activities in his/her assigned districts and Upazilas. S/he will lead the planning and field implementation to bring systemic changes and market development for the project and also reached project targets. The O-ED will play a major role in coordinating and implementing the project activities with community, manufacturer, light engineering, SME, inputs dealers, LSPs/VDOs, public & private sector representatives, group leaders, lead farmers, local elected bodies, associates partners & relevant stakeholders. The O-ED will assist the private sector, entrepreneurs, VDO members for capacity building of their workers, technology commercialization, strengthening supply chain & after sales services, ensure Access to Finance for SMEs, business growth, and establish functional linkage and also available services for community people. S/he will also involve to collect different need base field information jointly with Evidence and Analytics specialist.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The responsibilities of the Officer-Enterprise Development include but are not limited to the descriptions below:
∎ This position is responsible for ensuring the implementation for business growth through market development and service oriented interventions and activities for EDP(Enterprise Development Project) in the assigned areas;
∎ Conduct market research to assess constraints and opportunities, find out primary actors (local Entrepreneur) of the value chain, their roles and responsibilities as well as relationships due to provide sustainable market based solutions,
∎ Establish effective management operating systems for data gathering, monitoring, analysis, classification and evaluation of VDO members business growth
∎ Promote networking between professional bodies, research, public- private sectors and other interested bodies;
∎ Provide technical support and guidance to VDO members, associates partners and other stakeholders in enterprise development;
∎ Conduct awareness raising events involving public & private sectors, LSPs, VDO leaders, Civil society leaders and others for creating demand of innovative technology
∎ Assists SMEs to incorporate new design to improve their product quality and business development
∎ Facilitate to national firms & local entrepreneurs to improve their production capacity and business growth through linkage and increase sales;
∎ Establish linkage between SME, MFI, public sector and supply chain actors for their business growth
∎ Work closely with private sector actors and other service providers to promote and increase sales and service delivery of new and innovative technologies;
∎ Maintain close contact and communication for project planning, strategy formulation and other issues with supervisor and partners, counterparts, service providers, related government org., the private sector and project participants;
∎ identify various opportunities and constraints on the basis of local field context and provide necessary feedback to improve demand centered products through test marketing;
∎ Determine the cost benefit analysis of existing and potential technology/ equipment and business in the rural/urban market;
∎ Develop the capacity of LSPs/VDOs members/leaders in the area of business plan, business management through regional resources of public and private sectors and other actors;
∎ Conduct regular field travel and spend significant periods of time with growers, producers, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders in the field;
∎ Arrange linkage meeting, business training among/for SMEs, local service provider, market actor, producer group and relevant private and public sectors,
∎ Lead in planning and provide technical guidance for implementation to achieve project results through increasing productivity, improving access to different services;
∎ Follow up and monitor the field implementation of VDO members ensuring their capacities to explore new market opportunities for the farmers /producers/ value chain actors and update the senior team members;
∎ Prepare field progress report and other reports on a regular basis, document the key learning & findings.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Work Experience:
∎ At least 3 years' experience in enterprise development, market system (inputs and outputs), farm economy and good understanding on market development approach
∎ Key Competencies:
∎ Practical knowledge of best practices in agricultural technologies and improved farming methods.
∎ Good planning and organizing abilities.
∎ Excellent skills in community mobilization, working experiences with public and private sector partners, working with team context and team approach,
∎ Experience in profit analysis and business planning with LSP/VDOs and farmers.
∎ Ability to interact and collaborate with a broad range of public and private sector and various partners;
∎ Excellent training facilitation, coordination, and documentation skills.
∎ Understand the roles of different actors in market development and private sectors engagement.
∎ Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, including ability to present coherent and convincing messages to different audiences;
∎ Must have valid driving license and willing to work under pressure in remote areas.
∎ Proficiency in use of computer, i.e. MS Office, internet and Google Apps etc.
∎ Personal Qualities:
∎ S/He must be a highly motivated individually;
∎ Willing to continuously learn new skills and prepared to work hard and smart;
∎ Prepared to undertake frequent field visits and extensive travel;
∎ Strong training facilitation and community mobilization skills;
∎ Strong communication, linkage and networking skills;
∎ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
∎ Other Information and Conditions:
∎ The Officer Enterprise Development must agree to be a regular staff of iDE.
∎ The remuneration package, work days and deliverables might be change based on negotiation among iDE management and the contract.
∎ iDE reserve rights to terminate this agreement at any time with the consultation of the employee as per HR policy.
