∎ Bachelor in Nursing with training in a psychiatric ward.
∎ Registration required from Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council (BNMC)

Job Context:
∎ GK was created in 1972 with two visions. Firstly, "the fate of the poor decides the fate of the country". Secondly, the "development of the country depends on the development of women". Since 2017, Gonoshasthaya Kendra (GK) and UNHCR have entered into a partnership to respond to the Rohingya crisis in Cox`s Bazar and Bhasanchar.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Initiate emergency treatment, stabilization of patients, and ensure adequate patient monitoring in all medical departments as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and National Guidelines
∎ Consults with SC staff in designing appropriate treatment plans for clients.
∎ Documents all patient information on medical charts and follows physician's written orders.
∎ Ensure the correct administration of medication, including injections, and monitor the results of treatment.
∎ Administers and notes reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications and arranges further medical attention when necessary.
∎ Caring for patients with acute conditions - building relationships and responding to their physical and emotional needs, while delivering effective care.
∎ Assess and talk to patients about their condition and discuss the best way to plan and deliver their care.
∎ Build relationships with patients to encourage trust, while listening to and interpreting their needs and concerns.
∎ Dealing with the specific symptoms of mental illness, de-escalating stressful situations, and helping patients overcome challenges.
∎ Respond to distressed patients in a non-threatening manner and attempt to understand the source of their discomfort
∎ Interacting with patients' families and other care staff - offering counseling and information on patients' conditions.
∎ Prepare and participate in group and/or one-to-one therapy sessions, both individually and with other health professionals.
∎ Work with patients' families and caregivers, to help to educate them and the patient about their mental health problems.
∎ Ensure presence in the SC on a 24/7 Roster basis.
∎ Maintains patient confidentiality, documentation, and privacy as per project guidance.
∎ Maintains accurate records and documentation of patient treatments, and laboratory results according to standard medical recordkeeping.
∎ Help to assist in the Referral/transfer of sick patients and the safe handover of patients.
∎ Responsible for maintaining excellent infection control standards at the facility level.
∎ Flexibility in working hours because of the emergency nature of activities.
∎ Ability to face workload and good time management.
∎ Knowledge and willingness to participate in humanitarian activities.
∎ The employee shall respect Gonoshasthaya Kendra's & UNHCR's Conditions of Engagement

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 40 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ At least 1-year working experience managing mental health beneficiaries in any secondary and tertiary level facilities.
∎ Experience and knowledge in practicing essential psychotropic medicines under the guidance of the mhGAP curriculum.
∎ Understanding of DSM 5 manual / International Classification of Diseases -ICD 11.
∎ Understanding of essential psychotropic medicine, and therapeutic communication skills.
∎ Understanding and Speaking the Rohingya dialect
