Educational Qualifications
B.Sc. in Microbiology or M.Sc. in Microbiology from any recognized and reputed university.
Candidates with an MPhil or PhD in Microbiology will be given high preference.
Experience & Competencies
Proven hands-on experience in a modern clinical, diagnostic, or hospital microbiology laboratory setup.
Deep knowledge of culture techniques, diagnostic equipment, biosecurity, and waste disposal protocols.
Strong analytical, technical reporting, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with medical specialists and healthcare personnel.
Responsibilities & Context:
We are seeking a highly qualified and skilled Microbiologist to join our Laboratory Services department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing clinical microbiological testing, sample analysis, quality assurance, and laboratory safety protocols. Candidates with advanced research or postgraduate degrees (MPhil/PhD) are strongly encouraged to apply to lead clinical diagnostic workflows and technical evaluations.
Job Responsibilities
Diagnostic Operations: Oversee and perform microscopic examinations, culture isolation, identification, and antibiotic susceptibility testing on clinical specimens.
Quality Assurance & Control: Ensure strict compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), laboratory safety protocols, and national/international diagnostic quality standards.
Equipment & Reagent Management: Supervise the operation, calibration, and routine maintenance of specialized microbiology laboratory instruments and monitor reagent inventory.
Infection Control & Research: Assist in hospital infection control surveillance, outbreak investigations, and epidemiological tracking within the facility.
Reporting & Documentation: Review and validate diagnostic test results, maintain accurate laboratory logs, and provide expert consultation to medical teams regarding microbiological findings.
