Experience:
Additional certifications in Quality Management, Laboratory Safety, or Accreditation will be considered an advantage.
Strong knowledge of laboratory quality management systems (QMS).
Sound understanding of IQC, EQA, CAP, ISO 15189, or equivalent laboratory quality standards.
Hands-on experience operating fully automated laboratory analyzers.
Good knowledge of laboratory biosafety, infection control, and safety procedures.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory/hospital information systems such as HMS/LIS. Ability to work in rotational shifts, weekends, and emergency duties when required.
Strong sense of responsibility, professionalism, and commitment to patient safety.
Ability to follow SOPs, quality control procedures, and laboratory protocols strictly.
Perform and supervise laboratory investigations in Hematology, Biochemistry, Clinical Pathology, Microbiology, Serology/Immunology, Blood Bank, and other laboratory sections as applicable.
Verify, validate, and authorize laboratory test results before reporting.
Ensure all laboratory investigations are performed accurately and within the prescribed Turnaround Time (TAT).
Develop, implement, and monitor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Ensure compliance with Internal Quality Control (IQC), External Quality Assessment (EQA), and quality assurance programs.
Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation of laboratory equipment and analyzers.
Monitor reagent and consumable inventory and coordinate procurement to prevent stock shortages.
Ensure compliance with biosafety, infection prevention and control (IPC), laboratory safety, and biomedical waste management guidelines.
Investigate laboratory errors and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Maintain laboratory documentation, quality records, equipment logs, and departmental reports.
Coordinate with consultants, physicians, nursing teams, and hospital departments regarding laboratory services.
Participate in internal audits, accreditation activities, quality improvement projects, and continuous professional development initiatives.
Ensure confidentiality of patient information and maintain professional ethics.
Assist management in planning laboratory expansion, workflow improvement, and implementation of new technologies.
Perform any additional responsibilities assigned by the Consultant Pathologist or Hospital Management.
