Experience:
Diploma or B.Sc. in Medical Technology (Radiology & Imaging) from a recognized institution.Registration with the Bangladesh State Medical Faculty is mandatory.
Job Purpose
To perform diagnostic imaging procedures (e.g., X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, BMD, OPG) with accuracy, efficiency, and patient safety in accordance with hospital standards. The role involves operating radiological equipment, preparing patients for procedures, maintaining safety protocols, and assisting radiologists in delivering high-quality diagnostic services.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Technical & Clinical Responsibilities
Perform routine and emergency diagnostic imaging examinations (X-ray, CT, MRI, etc.) as per physician requests.
Prepare, position, and assist patients during imaging procedures, ensuring comfort and compliance with safety standards.
Operate imaging equipment including CR/DR systems, CT scanners, MRI machines, and X-ray units.
Assist in contrast media administration for specialized procedures under supervision.
Ensure accurate image capture, documentation, labeling, and entry into the PACS (Picture Archiving & Communication System).
Maintain patient confidentiality and provide appropriate instructions before, during, and after procedures.
2. Equipment Operation & Maintenance
Conduct daily equipment checks to ensure proper functioning.
Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to biomedical engineering.
Assist with routine maintenance and calibration in collaboration with medical physics and engineering teams.
Follow radiation safety protocols and proper use of protective equipment (e.g., lead aprons, shields).
3. Record Keeping & Reporting
Maintain detailed records of procedures performed, including patient details, exposure data, and technical notes.
Ensure all data is correctly entered in digital systems.
Assist radiologists in retrieving and reviewing images for diagnosis.
4. Quality Assurance & Safety
Comply with infection prevention and control (IPC) measures within imaging areas.
Ensure clean, organized, and adequately stocked imaging rooms.
5. Departmental Support
Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and radiologists for patient management and workflow coordination.
Attend departmental meetings and training sessions.
Participate in hospital audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives.
