  • 2 years’ experience as a Medical Doctor or in clinical work.

  • Desirable in tropical medicine, or post-registration experience in Pediatrics, Non-communicable disease Public Health, A&E, infectious diseases.



Responsibilities & Context:

Medical consultation:

  • Provides medical outpatient consultations, prescribing the necessary treatment, respecting MSF protocol to MSF Community Based Team Members (CBTM) & Locally Hired Staff (LHS) in HOH and GYL projects and to MSF patients

 

Sick leave management:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for both LRS staff/CBTM reporting illness or health-related concerns.

  • Receive and document health complaints from staff members in a timely and confidential manner.

  • Provide initial assessment and guidance based on the staff member’s condition, referring to appropriate medical services when necessary.

  • Ensure clear communication and follow-up regarding staff health issues in line with organizational protocols.

  • Approve short term sick leave (up to 3 days)

  • Review sick leave certificates, conduct staff medical assessments when required, maintain confidential records, provide health guidance, and escalate complex cases to the Medical Activity Manager (MAM)/ Project Medical Referent (PMR)/Medical coordinator Support/ Medical Coordinator.

 

Referral

  • Arrange and coordinate exceptional referral for the CBTM according to organizational policy, by reviewing and summarizing the case in collaboration with MAM

Occupational Health & Safety Response & preventive

  • Educates staff and CBTM on the procedure and reporting system for Accidental Exposure Injury.  Follow through on all injuries/documentation and advise on PrEP as necessary, ensuring confidentiality

  • Organizes, participates in documents, and follows up on all staff health vaccinations as per MSF staff health guidelines

  • Provides training to MSF staff and CBTMs as required (ie, first aid)

  • Prepare a report on the Work-Related Accident (WRA) & ensure to follow up on the progress

 

Others

  • As necessary, supports activities in MSF projects by providing coverage for medical gaps, attends and participates in trainings and meetings

  • Brief the new staff/CBTM on MSF staff health Policy

  • Promotes a healthier work environment through employee satisfaction & improves productivity

  • Produces Monthly Reports on staff health activities

  • Monitor patterns in illnesses, absenteeism, and occupational hazards, prepare regular analytical reports with recommendations, and support the design of preventive strategies

  • Assist Medco Support in processing medical reimbursement claim handle with strict confidentiality.

Contextual part

MSF will hire 2 Medical Doctors for 2 projects, Goyalmara mother & Child hospital (camp 16) & Hospital on the Hill (camp 8W). Primary responsibility of these 2 MD will deal with staff health (70-80%) and support in daily patient OPD consultation (20-30%)



Job Other Benifits:

    Salary according to MSF salary grid (Level 9) BDT 119,500, two (2) annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employees and direct dependents.
